Exactly. This guy might figure out the org chart before the end of Trump's presidency, but I wouldn't hold my breath. |
Is this insulting to members of the military? |
Again - this loudmouth doofus is going to oversee an $800+ billion budget and 3 million personnel. |
Highly. He would be replacing a man who retired as a 4-star general. Not to mention a long line of others with considerable military or DoD experience. |
A MAJOR in the GUARD, this is a giant middle finger to the Pentagon.
|
They just put this man in charge of about 2 million people. When you add up all of the Armed Forces, National Guard, and the civilian staff in the DIA, NSA, and all of the other defense agencies and staff on military bases, that is what it comes out to. |
But this is not DEI ![]() |
![]() EIB and CIB hath Pete. |
Super insulting. Slap in the face. |

It means he wasn’t perceived as someone capable of greater responsibility and leading larger numbers of troops. In corporate terms, a Major is like a manager-level, maybe a director at a small company. Lt Col is like a director at a big company, Col is like a VP or Division leader, General is like a VP at a large company, and you can go up in corporation size from there. |
I get he wants to own the libs but can we not play around with national security? There isn’t a single republican general around to take this job? |
How so? I am a military family member and a disabled vet. How is this insulting? |
Generals are perfumed princes. They are basically politicians. That’s it . |
Last guy was a 4 star general. A major is qualified to get his coffee, schedule his travel, take him to the airport, and keep his calendar. |
