I mean, objectively Elon jumping maniacally in front of a flag is more inspiring than watching a dude simulate jacking off with another guy watching. That’s not a hard contest.

Bro, this is not inspiring. Musk is higher than a kite and acting like he's fried his brain on drugs. It's like watching an addict spiral before your eyes. Also he got his start working in the US illegally so he's also a hypocrite on top of looking like a "prancing dipsh--". LOL

You are a female Harris voter. You don’t get it.

The ad was probably trying to use an "all publicity is good publicity" approach to getting their name out there. And it worked. Here we are talking about whether simulated masterbation is now considered decent enough to weave into political ads.

yeah it's not a Harris ad. not made or promoted by her team.

but it's also um, quite unsettling if you're a dude and raises a good point. like do we want a world where dolores umbridge is regulating our morality?

No I'm a man and a dad. I am a Harris voter though. I've also met Musk several times years ago when he hadn't deteriorated so badly. I'm in VC iand now n the Bay area.

This is not a typical liberal stance. Stop pretending it is. So sick of lies.

A wealthy Californian also won’t get it, even if male. You are out of touch and ignorant of the voters Musk is trying to reach.

Plus one million. I really wonder what democrats are thinking with this ad, it’s so awful. I feel sorry for the actors, they must be starving and near homeless to participate in such a project.

Let’s pretend Trump-Vance or a republican pac put out an ad like this. Everyone would be disgusted and so grossed out, and screeching about how Trump has lowered the standards for everyone and how sick republicans are.

I won't click on it because I'm not interested in finding deeper political meaning in watching a man watch another man diddling himself. But I'm glad you found it insightful. Personally, I think the fact that this ad exists serves as an argument in favor of a return to a time where we had ethics and self respect.

These are the people who made the ad:

IMG-5591

So the ad shows a man graphically masturbating in bed, watching porn on his phone. Suddenly, an old white guy in a suit appears in his room and stops him from watching porn, and then says he’s going to watch him-as he stares intently at the man- so he doesn’t finish. The man is a republican elected official.

I think it’s the grossest and worst political ad I have ever seen. What do you think?

It's the kind of ad that only certain groups of people would create or enjoy watching and give their approval.

I don't believe for one second that porn is going to be banned but I just want to push back on regulating morality. All laws to some extent are based on morality. Is murder moral? No. Is stealing moral? No. Is fraud moral? No. Etc. Etc.

But why?

I don’t see what’s wrong with ad, do you?

It is disgusting. Promoting that crap is a very bad look for the left not to mention very, very immature!
