‘Republicans Rubbing you the Wrong Way’ ad: opinion

I have provided the link to this ad, but you must have a youtube account and sign in to watch it. It’s considered by youtube to be an ad that might be inappropriate for some users- children.

These are the people who made the ad:



So the ad shows a man graphically masturbating in bed, watching porn on his phone. Suddenly, an old white guy in a suit appears in his room and stops him from watching porn, and then says he’s going to watch him-as he stares intently at the man- so he doesn’t finish. The man is a republican elected official.

I think it’s the grossest and worst political ad I have ever seen. What do you think?

It certainly makes the point of the problems posed by having government regulations get into our private business. Mind your own damn business.

I saw that ad on X. It's disgusting. Almost feels like it is promoting porn. Typical liberal stance. This won't help them.

Yes, the GOP needs to make some more campaign ads about how they are going to get rid of porn. That is going to be a really strong winning issue for them.

The only ones saying “omg this is disgusting!” are annoyed conservatives who don’t want any light shined on what they want to do.

Reminds me of the Republicans who get the vapors whenever a rape survivor talks about how she needed an abortion in an ad. Yeah, that’s what happens in real life!

Hilarious to who, exactly? It’s not going to do anything but repel critical swing state voters.

I do not understand what Harris is doing. Trump goes and talks with Rogan for a super long time. Harris won’t even meet him and instead releases this ad, ostensibly to target the Rogan audience but it’s such a creepy ad that it’s getting torn apart by that crowd. So who is supposed to be finding this a winning ad?

(Yes I know Trump sounded crazy and demented on Rogan. But he did it, and Harris didn’t.)

The only men who want to see other men masturbate are gay men. I don’t think gay men are expecting to see another man cranking his hog in a political ad.

The ad screams panic and desperation. Not a good look in the days running up to a presidential election.

The problem is that Trump does not have a credible competitor who has demonstrated something meaningful, such prevailing in a primary or any other contest that involves actual voters. She is a giggly wine mom who claims to know about joy but looks extremely uncomfortable in a lot of key settings. She does not connect with people.

Face it, this ad is effective because it tells the truth of what an authoritarian regime will regulate including porn consumption. If you rae offended by this, then clearly you are offended by the candidate caught having sex with a porn star while his wife was home with a newborn, right?
