Al Smith Dinner

When did Trump laugh at himself?

Nah. They wanted her there so Trump could try to humiliate her and then they would get the reaction shot - Harris embarrassed, a crowd of rich white dudes laughing at her. Then put that into commercials to beam all over the country.

Harris didn’t walk into the obvious trap. Smart lady.

Ps - the Al Harris Dinner is the definition of the Swamp that folks claim to hate. Money, religion, media, and politics all rolled into one.

There are a lot of rich white dudes in both parties. If she can’t handle rich white dudes, she shouldn’t be president

That was a bizarre incoherent jump from Harris not attending an event held by a child sex trafficking organization to "she can't handle rich white dudes"

The PP said she didn’t want to be in a crowd of rich dudes who are laughing at her.

I’m Catholic and I find it offensive that Trump was an invited guest when he has sexually assaulted women, hung out with a known pedophile, cheated on multiple wives, tried to overturn a legitimate election, made disgusting comments about migrants, opponents and women, tried to eliminate healthcare for millions of people and has caused more divisiveness in this country than any other president in history.

Btw, the Al Smith dinner is supposed to involve an element of self-deprecation. There was none of that. It was the same old drivel from an old, tired, angry man.

Don’t you find it to be problem that his “jokes” are all framed about being a toxic “hard” man vs a “soft” man? That’s the dumbest form of thinking there can be and yet here you are celebrating that crap. He is using the concept of manliness to bully and manipulate people. Why would that be a good thing?

Gaffigan is always great.

Trump can be funny. Wish he’d go back to being an entertainer.

PP. I watched the whole thing. He did get some funny lines off — the subpoena line was quite funny, the jab about the age of the crowd — but he also showed yet again that he is a nasty, whiny little b.

More concerning: why is nobody talking about how much he was slurring his words and about how low energy he was? Toward the end it seemed like he was trying not to fall asleep. That guy definitely does not have four years of being president in him.

Oh like when Trump got roasted by Obama and he was a totally good sport about it?

And this was him trying to tone it down, bc eight years ago, he got so much flack for being so cruel and off-putting. Old, tired, and angry is right.

+1
It did not go unnoticed that she snubbed Cardinal Dolan.

+1. The Democrats disdain for Catholics has not gone unnoticed. There was the Notre Dame student poll a few weeks ago. Trumps internals are showing NJ could move to within the MOE soon.

Joe Biden and the Kennedys are devout catholics. do you hear yourself?

"the democrats'

Please.

When did Trump laugh at himself?

Never in his life

He can still read a script, I guess.

Barely. He read very haltingly from his notes and complained that he couldn't use a teleprompter.

When did Trump laugh at himself?

Seriously - those of you who watched the whole routine - when did Trump laugh at himself?

That's your explanation and it's hilarious given who her opponent is. I really DGAF why she didn't go. The Catholic Church abuses children and is weirdly fixated forced birth. Funny how the only mention of abortion in the Bible is a recipe of how to do one.
