He was asleep because he is very old and overwhelmed by trying to perform the very demanding job of POTUS. Hopefully we have all learned our lesson about voting in almost 80 year old presidents. Be smart, Vote harris!

OMG, are you still peddling this song and dance? You’re beyond transparent.

His own campaign said he was too tired to go do all the events and shows he was booked for

"Beyond transparent" about what? The guy literally fell asleep at his trial. Have you seen him slur his way through a speech recently? He's not well!

Since when are periods something to mock? Who says something like that?

Since Tim Walz put tampons in the boys bathrooms in all of the high schools in Minnesota.

But that's not what happened.

So you're saying "never"?

No doubt a post from someone who thought tens of pages on DCUM insulting Vance about a couch was funny. WEIRD.

Your feelings are somehow hurt by people joking about the deeply awkward Vance?

Poor delivery. Looking down and mumbling a bunch of someone else's dumb jokes off of a piece of paper is not a good look. Who wrote those anyhow? Gutfeld's team? That's another guy who sucks at comedy but conservative "comedy" generally sucks anyhow, it's mostly just a mix of whining wrapped in lowbrow sarcasm and 4th-grade playground bullying technique.

I was surprised with how hard nice guy Gaffigan went with his jokes. His set was funny though. And Melania’s face during several jokes spoke volumes.

Trump was Trump. He’s entertaining whether you love him or hate him. Some jokes were inappropriate and much of it demonstrates he’s not presidential.

CNN is covering it right now. They just showed a clip of trump being obnoxious. Now they are defending the roast format.

2016: Why didn't Hillary Clinton campaign in Wisconsin?!

2024: Why did Kamala Harris campaign in Wisconsin instead of going to a white tie dinner in New York City?!

The election tradition white tie dinner… which was carried live across cable, YouTube, twitter, etc. and creates hundreds of millions of impressions via viral clipped content and Friday news articles?

No one cares about the Al Smith dinner

Plenty of Catholics in PA do. PA and NY news is deeply entwined.

Weekly mass attending Catholic and Catholic school graduate from the Midwest here. Never heard of it until some 15 years after I left the Midwest.

+1
It did not go unnoticed that she snubbed Cardinal Dolan.

Cardinal Dolan snubs folks every day, so not worried there.

+1

My very Catholic 80 father just made some anti-Dolan jokes the other day. Dolan is not a beloved figure. He is a caricature of the weak side of the Church, loving all the trappings and worldliness of being a powerful cardinal hobnobbing with the wealthy and powerful. Yuck. Give me the clergy who prefer the company of the poor, the homeless, the least among us. They are the ones doing God’s work.

Harris needs to worry about the 95+ % of the live audience and those seeing it on social media and articles who did not recognize a niche comedic character from 25 years ago. To those people, it was unfunny and deeply weird at best, and at worst, a bigoted mocking of Catholics.

lol. Every Irish Catholic I know — and that’s a lot— loves Mary Katherine Gallagher. She’s been a touchstone for us for decades.

No one under the age of say, 40, recognized that character.

No under 120 wants a continuation of mentally declining 80 year old people leading the most powerful country in the world either. I can put up with Harris' antics. She is competent. Biden being replaced by Trump would be like replacing your 1987 Pontiac Sunbird that does nothing but leak and sputter with a 1983 Ford Escort that blew it's head gasket when you drove it previously.

Harris, waltz and trump are all the same generation, boomers. The only younger one is Vance who is a millennial.

Didn't Trump skip the press dinner because he didn't want to get lampooned?

Are you ignorant or a troll? The rest of us know that Harris and Walz are Gen X and that Trumplethinskin at 2 decades older is a Boomer.

Kamala’s on the cusp of Gen X and by some measures she’s outside of it, but we need not pretend that this makes her the same age as Trump.

Vance and those who back him are extremely aware how much younger he is than Trump. If Trump wins, watch them turn on the old man like a pack of dogs. And when they 25th him, remember: they do not give an f*#k about Trump’s fan base. They will throw all those boat paraders under the bus in half a heartbeat as they create their new world order.

Harris SEEMS Gen X even if she is technically just outside of it. I am squarely Gen X and Harris absolutely seems like one of us.

Walz seems sort of outside being pegged to a generation! He seems timeless.

I think Trump is actually Silent Generation, right? He's too old to be a Boomer?

As for Vance - I think demons just don't age.

No. There are like two counties in far NEPA that are in the NYC TV market. That’s it.

🎯 would bet money that this is the case.
