I don't know about that but the problem isn't the ranking, the problem is that a lot of the kids that most need something like Tj are not getting it and a lot of kids that are getting it are overwhelmed. I suspect the DEI folks could achieve their diversity objective without sacrificing too much merit by re-implementing the testing requirement and keeping the 1.5% and experience factors. Sure some kids still get screwed but TJ admissions has become political and that means we have to balance merit admissions against political reality. Complain all you want about rankings, the FCPS board is not going to change so drastically that they are going to change to a pure merit based system. |
