What does this have to do with the electoral college? It’s totally irrelevant. Do you care if Timmy the president of the treehouse club next door was democratically elected?

So you want California and nY deciding our elections no thx

And Texas and Florida. There will be a lot more red folks in ca that come out to vote in Ca and a lot more blue folk that come out to vote in Tx if they thought their vote mattered

So factor those out of the top options.

Also, there is a better than decent chance NC goes blue. OP which side do you have that on?

I agree, and that includes the pissed off Arab voters Metro Detroit sitting this one out. Detroit’s black vote is going to come out in droves, which will tips the scales.

The arab vote in MI isn't even that big, and the fact is, they know they will be deported under Trump so they won't really stay home.

Add to it the stronger Union vote and frankly the Dems own the state right now politically and are doing great there.

What are you talking about ??? The whole area of greater Detroit is crawling with arabs.

And most of them are pragmatic enough to understand that for them, Harris is the lessor of two evils and will vote accordingly. Sure, there are some fringers who probably aren't even eligible to vote.

Republicans are grasping at straws with this line of criticism.

Well, right now we have Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin deciding our elections. What’s the difference?

It’s unfair (and undemocratic) that Alaskans’ votes are weighted more than Californians’.

100 million votes for a civil war? We very nearly lost in the electoral college last time with a candidate winning 8 million more votes across the country.

I think the breaking point is coming very, very soon. It just makes zero sense that only 5 or 6 states are deciding elections for us and that you can “lose” with millions more votes because of this nonsense.

And don’t forget that it is related to the 3/5 compromise.

We need to get rid of this insane system.

PS if the electoral college actually functioned as designed, TFG never would have made it to the Oval Office.

The Electoral College needs to go, and each state needs to move to ranked choice voting. Ranked choice voting would get rid of the wing nuts and create a legislature filled with more moderate (and hopefully pragmatic) people.

If true, that removes a LOT of the paths OP listed above for the GOP.

We’re playing with fire. Democracies can only survive if the people who assume power have a popular mandate. When losers assume power, the whole democratic system destabilizes and breaks down. There’s a reason no other country uses anything like the electoral college.

How did she "not have a vote?" She was Biden's running mate and was on the 2020 ballot, as well as being on the 2024 primary ballot with Biden. And now she will also have the majority votes of the DNC delegates.

killing gerryamndering would help too.

The House should be expanded per the Wyoming Rule and DC and PR should be added as states for the Senate.

I live in CA and feel like a few thousand people in PA or FL or GA could decide the election.

But bottom line is that all Trump needs are the normally always Republican states plus Pennsylvania and Georgia. Act accordingly. I have plans to doorknock later this year for Harris in Susan Wild’s PA Congressional District.

Thank you for knocking doors! If at all possible, do it sooner. It helps to plant the seed early, clean up lists, ID undecideds. And YES, undecideds exist!
