What a brand! I am a weak, pathetic, whiny loser who blames all losses on racism. Great way to go.

wtf.

Long, long time tennis fan here. That call is so outrageous and such a basic unacceptable error by that ref that they should be removed permanently. That was not a small error.

You can scream at the ref without crying. I would have respected her if she kept on yelling at him, if she had asked how much he was bribed, even if she had swung at him. Crying is just ridiculous

Yet nobody thought it was “okay” when Serena called out bad calls.

Plus everyone should call out bad calls.

And now that it's all over Serena is beloved because she won. Nobody cares about her antics now. Coco needs to win to get the same treatment because right now she's an underachieving whiner

But they did care when she complained about bad calls.

You all should put your name next to these comments. Own your hate and disrespect for the WTA number 2 women’s single player. Argue the call. Respect the athlete. Athletes are passionate people. They can have a bad moment and react within the full spectrum of human emotions. You are reacting to her moment. How should we judge your comments? Read the thread to your religious leader, your boss, or record yourself reading it and post it on social media. Do you think your statements will be upheld as honorable and true? Melissa Morrissey

The men are SO much worse and unless they are violent it goes without notice. The bratty male players who show terrible sportsmanship and throw fits is a mile long. Add in the azzhats who abuse others outside of the game and it’s even longer. Despite this the black female players are always called out unless they are mild and obsequious. That’s what’s so disingenuous about the losers who complain that poc “play the race card”. It’s because racism is still prevalent you jerks.

Please, she's not a brat. She's still very young and learning how to manage her emotions.

That said, she didn't lose the match because of that one point, and when you watch the video, she had already hit the ball when it was called out. She was wrong.

I literally grew up around a tennis court my entire life. Tennis players in general are often the douchiest of the douche bags. Stop mistaking douchieness with being 'passionate'. Coco is an unlikable dbag right now as Naomi Osaka and Djokovic.

Have you watched the video? Has anyone? The call was 100% made after Coco struck the ball.

I'm so perplexed by how many media outlets have covered this story by making it sound like she was the victim of bad officiating when she blew a big lead in the first set. In the match, Coco had only 9 winners to her opponent's 33, and Vekic had to close out the match with the crowd booing and against her. I'm not sure how you can claim racism when it's the opposite - all of the coverage suggests, if not affirmatively states, that the call was made before she hit the ball, which is not true.

Right or wrong, players have to accept the officiating call. Officiating isn't 100% across the board for all sports. It's annoying whenever players feel like they're victims of a crime. Being a pro athlete is a privilege. Doing what they love for a living and making bucket loads of money in the meantime. Go ahead and complain about bad calls to those suffering in Gaza..

I generally agree with the "crybaby" nickname, but in this case I think she was totally justified.

It's not fair that the ref says it's out, so she stops, then someone else says "whoopsie, nevermind it was in, point to the other player". She wanted to replay the point which I think was totally reasonable. If the ref f***s up, the player shouldn't be the one(s) that suffer.

She shanked a forehand after the call was made. Hello?
