Sweltering heat in Texas

Anonymous
I know someone who has soent his life working in the oil industry basically denying climate change and complaining about government regulation (high up oil exec). After the last round of hurricane flooding and power outages in texas, he moved to a different state for retifememt — couldn’t deal with the mess that Texas has become.

You do know millions of Texans are without power because the state doesn't care about the energy grid.

Air conditioning made the south and southwest livable. Once you take that away...

DP. Millions of Texans are suffering in sweltering temperatures because Biden failed to issue federal response in a timely manner.

Sorry but a powerful June hurricane is not biden's fault. The changing climate will produce more of these. Get trump to fix things with a sharpie or something.

No one said the hurricane was his fault; however, his failure to grant the major disaster declaration in a timely manner is absolutely his fault.

“I am disappointed that President Biden is turning Hurricane Beryl into a political issue,” Patrick said on X. “We had a cordial call today that ended up with him granting my request for a major disaster declaration. But that’s not good enough for him. He is falsely accusing me that I was not reachable. He obviously did not know his own employees from FEMA were side-by-side with me for 3 days! All he had to do was call them and have them hand their phone to me.”

State officials, Patrick wrote, had to determine Texas’ needs before asking the federal government for help – a process that required officials traveling to impacted areas.

“To quote President Biden, this is a load of malarkey, and he’s shoveling it!” Patrick wrote, using a term often used by Biden.

Abbott, in his own post, took aim at Biden’s mental fitness. “Biden’s memory fails again,” the governor tweeted, adding that Biden has his number and “not once did he call me during Beryl.”

Abbott spokesperson Andrew Mahaleris also called Biden’s comments “a complete lie,” writing on X: “Biden and his Administration know exactly how to get in contact with the Governor and have on numerous occasions in the past, most recently on Friday when FEMA called and spoke with him.”

But TAXES ARE DEATH! why would you now want federal dollars? Hippocrates, all of you.

lots of people moving into TX because it's cheaper, including my childless brother.

It is cheaper because it is a climate disaster and social hell hole.

Or, more accurately, because it's big and land is cheap. For those who live in the real world instead of a partisan fantasyland.

OP here. Thank you for underscoring my point. Only MAGAs can make the literal melting of our planet “partisan.”

Ah. Another dumb*ss. Those liberals are voting for officials who believe in climate change and support policies to curb it. Because they’d like to keep living on the ocean and recognize that if things don’t change that too will soon be an impossibility. Get it? Try to follow along.

But yet all the oil companies have raised the offshore drilling platforms due to rising water levels from climate change. They specifically cited climate change as the reason. It’s always surprising to me what information people are exposed to and cling to for constructing their truth/outlook.

A third MAGA joins the group. Millions are suffering in sweltering heat because the planet is melting due to man-made climate change. But just like a MAGA to blame the problem on someone else.
