| Why do liberals live on the coasts if it’s dangerous to do so because of climate change? |
| I am shocked to learn that it is hot in Texas in the summertime! Next you’re going to tell me that they have good barbecue. |
|
It looks like their energy provider can't even provide an outage map.
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2024/07/09/whataburger-power-outage-map-houston-texas/74341208007/ One of my dh's staff members decided to stop working remotely in Texas and move to the DC area. That's how bad it is. |
You do know millions of Texans are without power because the state doesn't care about the energy grid. Air conditioning made the south and southwest livable. Once you take that away... |
This is what happens when you shut down coal power plants in favor of windmills. Texas leads the nation in wind power generation - problem being that it tends to disappear when you really need it. |
I live in Rockville. It's been hot as h3ll these past couple of weeks, but we don't normally get hurricanes through here, and normally, our power grid doesn't stay down for days on end. I do recall 12 years ago we had the derecho, and our power was down for 4 days. But, we haven't had such a long term power out due to weather since then. TX has had at least two incidents in the past few years of long term power outage in extreme weather. |
Liberals, conservatives, and anyone in-between with resources is currently making a plan to escape the worst of climate change is they are in a vulnerable area. Everyone should do the same. |
Here’s what you do if you’re really that concerned about CO2 and climate change: Stop buying things manufactured in China, which is basically a coal powered economy. |
NP but they haven’t cared for years. Every year there is a weather related energy crisis in Texas. Residents continue to vote these people in to office. So they keep getting unreliable energy. Hard to feel bad for them. |
They keep getting unreliable energy because they invested in unreliable energy, i.e. windmills. Untold billions of dollars wasted. |
No the wind energy was the only thing that works. It is weird how conservatives like yourself alway get the facts wrong, |
?? It’s intermittent supply and comes and goes with the wind. Coal, nuclear, and to a lesser extent natural gas are far more reliable and less dispersed. Any significant reliance on wind power increases the fragility of the system, in part because $ spent there are $ not spent on more reliable power sources. |
DP. Millions of Texans are suffering in sweltering temperatures because Biden failed to issue federal response in a timely manner. https://www.wsj.com/us-news/biden-texas-officials-spar-over-beryl-response-as-power-outages-persist-a485d6e3?st=cq85canf8f9q650&reflink=article_copyURL_share |
Way too late. It is here so adapt and plan accordingly. |
Sorry but a powerful June hurricane is not biden's fault. The changing climate will produce more of these. Get trump to fix things with a sharpie or something. |
