He’s being arraigned at 1pm in Rockville.
Cops busted him by recovering his water bottle at Dulles airport: https://wapo.st/3xkTfCR Full warrant text - extremely graphic: https://mocoshow.com/2024/06/24/additional-details-surrounding-the-arrest-if-man-accused-of-killing-his-ex-girlfriends-mother-in-23-year-old-cold-case/ |
| Interesting. Wonder how the police knew he would be at Dulles? |
I’m sure they had him under surveillance to try to get a dna sample. |

Sounds like she got a few good swings in to injur him—good for her. And he tried to clean it all up which pretty much eliminates an insanity defense.
Does sound like he had a drug problem. The fact that he and his mother moved a few months after the killing…..wonder if she knew. He probably came home pretty much a mess. |
Good catch, I missed that. |

Is this the murderer’s father? Geez.

Yes. At the time he was a very accomplished professor at UMD. Now teaches at CMU. He's a pioneer in the field of IT systems security. |
This is his mother (and step-mother): https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/29/fashion/weddings/judith-graves-maryellen-madden.html |
Yep, after reading the arrest warrant, it seems that he was a likely drug user who was a suspect in multiple burglaries in the area. It's possible this was a burglary attempt gone wrong and she caught him in the act. |
What happened at the arraignment? I am assuming no bond. |
It reminds me of the case in Rockville from May 2015 where the guy killed his neighbors, a husband and wife, and pawned items he had stolen. He was caught boarding a cruise to Alaska for a family vacation. |
Correct. It’s in the Post article. |

| This disgusts me and breaks my heart. she was still young. This was a gross injustice. |
Does anyone have a gift link to the Times article? |
