And send all thr descendants of immigrants to get in line with the immigrants, instead of skipping the line. No more legacy citizenship from ancestors. |
This, these migrants, who are running from bad lives could be us if we were born into a different situation. We lack workers. Bring them here and give them jobs and a good life. |
| It appears that no matter what any president (or governor) does to try to stop the flow of migrants it works at first but eventually the numbers increase again. That is because whatever they encounter on their trip to the border and whatever they encounter once they get there or into the US is not worse than the life they are trying to leave. People in the US who don't understand this and appear to think they are coming here to ruin our lives are very ignorant and entitled. |
| One of the biggest challenges is the schools. One of the elementary schools in Salisbury (a poor small city or large town) is getting 20 new Haitian kids a day. Wicomico County is one of the poorest counties in Maryland. |
I do understand their lives suck down there. That does not mean they get to break the law to come here. |
Simple concept. Not so simple if it's you and your family, children, who are suffering and in danger. Hardly anybody in the US knows what that is like. What would you do if it were you? Wait around for years or maybe never for a legal chance at a better life? |

Wow, the troll farms in suburban Moscow have stepped up their game. A+, well played.
|
I don't think migrants have had any problem finding Montgomery County on their own, even after being bussed to DC. 32.1% foreign born in 2022, and the highest of any jurisdiction in the area. Most common country of origin for Maryland is El Salvador, and that seems consistent in MoCo as well. |
| OP must be looking for free or cheap household staff. |
It really doesn't matter "why" people are coming here. That shouldn't be their choice. |
+1 Nobody seriously talks like OP. I can't believe people are taking them seriously. |
? I didn't deny that, but it's families and children only, not all. |
Not our problem, the penalties for illegal immigration need to be very strict to discourage other people from attempting it. They should be deported and receive a lifetime ban from immigrating to the US, if they are caught crossing the border outside a legal port of entry. We cannot save the entire world from unfortunate circumstances and wanting a higher paying job is not a valid reason to move the US. I don't think they are trying to ruin our lives, but the US cannot take millions of fake asylum seekers every year. This is completely unworkable and it creates a significant burden for US taxpayers. You are ridiculous, I am not being entitled I am having a discussion about out current (dysfunctional) immigration policy. If anything the entitled people are the ones moving here illegally that expect the US government to give them housing and food (covered by US taxpayers). |
DC are trying to send all. Montgomery County is only agreeing to accept families with children. |
That is the dumbest policy I have heard of from MOCO (in a long time) has a lot of stupid ideas. Why would we only agree to accept the most costly migrants that are going to be a drain on county finances. Children and elderly people don't work or pay taxes to MOCO. So they won't be self-sufficient and MOCO will also need to provide social services for them. Around 64% of school funding is derived from local tax revenue. Every migrant child costs the county around $13,300 a year for schooling. |
