I’m not saying women can’t look good into their fifties but do they ever look better after 40 than when they were younger in their twenties or thirties. No one looks better as an older lady.

Honestly I look better at 50 than I did at 20. I'm not thinner than I was at that age - 10 pounds heavier - but I have much better hair and clothes now. And also I'm just a whole lot more comfortable with myself. I exercise a lot and so still look pretty fit, I think.

It probably helps - helps? - that I was always "cute" and never the hottie 20 something. So I am apparently not facing that horrible, life-quaking decline that women who were hot young people go through in middle age.

I don't know. We'll see how this goes once menopause hits, I guess!

If you are talking hair and fashion, I’ll note that the 80s and 90s were rough. Also products are better now.

I think I look *comparatively* better at 40 than when I was younger. That is, I’m a much better looking 40 year old than I was a 20 year old.

I don’t have wrinkles yet, and people think I’m in my 30’s. I’m sure I’ll go downhill soon, but it hasn’t happened yet and I’m really happy with how I look.

Lol you don't have wrinkles at 44

I'm 45 and have zero wrinkles. And I'm white. And have a flat stomach post 3 kids. Some of us are just blessed.

+1 I am 46. No wrinkles. White. Sunscreen since 14. I stay out of the sun. 32-year-old men look the same age as me.

A woman tried to introduce me to her son this weekend because she thought we “were the same age” and I told her my age. and she was like: “oh, my son is 31.” She was surprised.

This is not a one-time incident. Happens all the time.

Most people are atrocious at guessing age.

PP here. That is true. But it is also true that I don't look like other women in their 40s.

True but I would much rather have them guess younger than older 🤣

My DW (who's half Asian, half white) looked great when we met at age 30, but her highest peak was early 40s, post kids. Unfortunately, her (current) late 40s have turned out to be her lowest trough.

i have a 55YO Indian friend....looks the same (gorgeous) she did in college. No change to hair, skin, eyes, weight, etc. Freak of nature! She has three kids in late twenties and three grandchildren.

Me too! The only difference is I had three huge babies and my tummy looks like hell and only my husband ever sees it. The rest of me is much better at 43 than 23 comparatively. My boobs and butt are nicer which is a pleasant surprise.

OP here. I was very attractive in my twenties. I am well maintained and probably look better than most women in our mid- late forties. However, there is no way I look better now than when I was 25. I used to walk into clubs and get guys hitting on me constantly daily on the street, elevator, grocery store. That does not happen to me now.

I personally think I looked my best at 30 and 40. I looked pretty good when I got married and before I had kids. Then I had 3 kids ages 30-38. After I had my third child, I worked out, ate well and lost all my baby weight and weighed the same as at age 30 before kids. Now I’m feeling pretty old and not young anymore at 46. I believe age 43 is the age that you stop feeling young. It is probably when your fertility also takes a cliff dive so when you can no longer reproduce, you also begin to look less attractive.

Do women ever look MORE attractive in their forties?

Some of my friends are beginning to do things to their face and I often think the fillers and Botox make their face look unnatural and definitely do not look better than when they were younger and has a more natural youthful face.

Until people start asking these idiotic questions about men, I don't care to think about the answer to this.
