Liberal “snowflakes”

I’m liberal and my kids aren’t perfect but none of them are in a delusional cult worshipping a corrupt ignorant sociopath.

The science is settled.

Liberal parents scored the lowest, largely because they are the least likely to successfully discipline their children.

WOW. This is damning. Any libs here going to self-reflect on your political affiliations/parenting problems?

I’m liberal but my kids don’t have mental problems. I made sure during the pandemic they hung out with their friends a couple of times a week. My kids are teenagers, who have great grades and work summer jobs that have them interact with a wide range of people in DC. One of my kids is friends with the child of an un-indicted person mentioned in the Jack Smith case. I just block it when I have to interact with the kid’s parents.

You aren’t that Liberal if you allowed your children to ignore the six foot mandate during the pandemic. Or did the other family swear to you that they weren’t exposing themselves to anyone else? Only your children. Heck, remember the taped arrows down the aisles of every grocery store? Utter insanity.

So, this is cute...it's a study by a conservative think tank, described by a Washington Examiner article that just happens to have MSN as its URL. It's as if PP is going out of their way to dress it up as something other than Republican propaganda.

NP. Um, this data is from a Gallup Poll. You just don't like the messenger.

I’m a liberal parent. Both my college kids are ADHD- One ADHD- Tyle Inattentive (a girl) and one Type Hyperactive (a boy). Both parents also ADHD— def. a genetic component. The boy is also partly out to our family as gay. Girl is still in the closet as asexual except to immediate family and favorite aunt. Plus, a couple of her friends know and a couple of mine (I need support from my BFF of 30 years sometimes).

Our family mostly does not know she is asexual. They are ready to support the gay kid— which is great, but we’ve all seen that coming for years. The asexual kid will be a surprise, and they may well deny asexuality exists, tell her she’ll “get better,” etc. if she gains weight (BMI well below 20 and issues with low estrogen may play a role— but for the last 6+ years, this has been her reality) and— most essentially— if s he works hard and doesn’t talk about Ed problems, she can still get and keep a man.

Hyperactive ADHD kid has diagnoses, medication and a support system. He would be counted as receiving mental health treatment no matter who his parents are

Inattentive ADHD kid who identifies as asexual? Her problems get overlooked. And in the family I grew up in? She’s considered a huge success on the grandparents FB feeds, except for the not dating thing. Her diagnoses would not be counted, she would not get therapy. She would be able to mask the ADHD (like I did) until it all fell part. She would be pushed to date a football player. In fact, we have had conservative members in our family that support her brother deny she is ADHD— and say we are lying for the attention, because she has decent grades and has is “so organized” (like painfully so). They also say “fake it till you make it” with boys— otherwise she won’t be marriageable (as I struggle to explain to her why “marriageable” that matters so much to the grandparents, when I it doesn’t matter at all to DH or I. And have started cutting “marriageable” discussions off at the pass.

Our asexual, ADHD-I kid would not have diagnoses in a conservative household and would not be getting academic and psychological supports. But she does in ours. Our willingness to listen to her and get her support and treatment doesn’t make us bad parents. It makes us parents who listen. And we heard loud and clear that this kid probability needs our support to talk to the family about her sexuality and to deal with her weight and with her ADHD as much as or more than the gay kid. Because the level of stress over these issues was so high. Her problems are just quieter.

I mean wow. Exhibit A. You have so many labels and diagnoses on your kids and have probably had them in counseling and therapy from birth and you likely are doing some things to amplify the very diagnoses they have received. Neither of your kids are heterosexual and maybe your late bloomer is asexual. I mean I feel like that’s a lot of focus on the sexuality —- and definitive labeling —- of kids going thru puberty. In my day almost every girl said she was bisexual for a while. Mean while almost all never actually hooked up with a girl and almost all married or settled down with men. It was trendy. Asexual is real but also trendy in part because these kids have been SO OVERWHELMED with discussions of sexuality and sexual identity. They can shut all that down by saying they are asexual.
Let your kids be kids. They aren’t science projects or psychology experiments. You are literally the perfect example of why kids of liberals are often depressed. So much oppressive analyzing of the kids!! Aggh!

Perfectly said. It's really quite amazing, and not in a good way.

funny, in the dcum bubble of highly educated parents, as I am led to believe, I don't see anyone looking for the study itself. This link is not the study itself (didn't see what if any reference there is to a published paper, which means that anyone referring to this study is referring to the institute's OWN summary without seeing the complete methodology and data sources other than questionnaires they do describe in their summary, there is one link to a machine learning study published by Springer) but does explain some things about how it was carried out, so if there are any psychologists or social scientists with some thoughts I would be interested.

But then we have a multi-month event of liberals burning, rioting and looting dozens of major cities, blinding cops with la-sers and destroying public and private property.

Where were you going with this again?

You must understand that their violence is speech, and your speech is violence. Now use today’s correct pronoun or get sued.

Oh you poor snowflake. Did a pronoun hurt your feelings?

Men can pretend to be women all they want to, but forcing the rest of us to play along when we speak is at odds with the first amendment.

Sure. And that means I can call you by a different pronoun than the one you prefer for yourself. First Amendment.
That's the difference, we don't care what you call us. You all lose your minds and post videos, and tik toks about hate speech etc.

Lol that’s very funny.

PP seems bothered by those terrible videos and and Tik toks. They/she must be a snowflake.
they?

How many convictions were there where it turned out the instigators were white nationalists? Enough to make you go "hmmmm".

Good cops protect bad cops. The training officers tell them to walk away when something bad is going down. Conservative support means that will never change.

Thank you. He’s a visiting scholar at the George Washington University. Some of his work is funded by the Bill Gates Foundation. Imagine that, you snowflake Libs.

MAGA and Republican are the same. MAGA just says the quiet part out loud but they support the same policies. The only difference between the two is how their policy positions are communicated.

Lived my adult life in the south and they no longer feel social pressure when it comes to racism and misogyny. Look at at the comments saying that women should their rights diverse without their husband's approval and that women should be required to vote in line with their husbands. Mind-blowing 18th-century stuff.

PP said they don't care what pronouns people call them. So yes, they. Since we don't know their pronoun.
