Rough sex amongst teens

Agree about talking to them about it, but you can't control it. The Internet is everywhere whether they have a phone or not. It is just not physically possible to "stop/prevent" them.

Please, please, please if you have heterosexual boys, talk to them and tell them this is not okay, and is truly dangerous.

I happen to be criminal defense attorney and can tell you that anyone who was accused of doing this to someone against their will would be looking at attempted murder charges if reported.

This is 100% a pron thing. There is a disturbing amount of pron content that depicts men choking their partners and their partners appearing to like it.

While I'm sure it's true some women legit DO enjoy being choked, I am willing to bet that's an extreme minority. And so you need to empower your daughters to assert themselves if someone tries this with them without their consent (and also teach them they don't need to consent just to please a partner). Knee the guy in the testes if you need to. Scratch him if you need to. Whatever it takes to get him off you. Then either have a frank conversation about consent and boundaries or kick him to the curb.

Do you remember the famous actor, David Caradine?

He was killed during a session of erotic auto-asphyxiation. He was alone at the time.

It’s a kink he was into. Because, he enjoyed it.

That sounds highly suspicious. Michael Hutchence died the same way, but they called it a suicide.

Teach your daughters to be feminists and stop worrying that tattoos and piercings are trashy. Being a pathetic pick me is much, much worse. Feminism is for Everybody is good book for beginners.

I am not blaming them but making it clear it is a problem for both sexes. OP was making it about boys only when both boys and girls need to be aware and parents need to speak to both.

Seriously, DID YOU READ IT?!?

Some of these girls have been seriously harmed or even died!!

So? It appears to be consensual. Blaming this on boys is sexist. And wrong.

Is it truly consensual as in something that the girls would want for themselves even if they had never been exposed to porn? Or porn-addled guys asking for it (or just doing it without asking) and then she comes to see it as an expectation/a normal thing?

I’m not blaming it on boys BTW, I’m blaming it on porn.

Motorcycling is more dangerous than erotic asphyxiation.

Some things that feel good are also dangerous.

It's not brainwashing, it's human nature.

Obviously consent is essential and people should be careful.

Just stop. It’s absolutely brainwashing. The average woman does not want to be choked, EVER. I’d like to think the average man also has no intrinsic desire to choke women.

Idk I enjoy it as a woman. Though I haven’t really discussed it with my friends, only sexual partners.

Honestly, why?

The influence has been horrifying. Wholeheartedly agree.

Surely this dehumanizing violence toward women must have carryover impacts on interactions at school and in the workplace? To choke someone is so risky and extreme, how can it not impact how the sexes interact even if there is NOT YET brain damage?

DC just passed a law re: choking in dv situations as an enhanced penalty as those who do it are so likely to kill the woman then or in the future. It goes far beyond human norms of behavior.

This type of porn should not be available.

With a 22 yr old and 18 yr old this article horrified me. Will have a talk. I’m just disheartened at this bleak landscape the world offers to women right now.

It is bleak and grim, so much worse than I experienced. I have girls the same ages.

The girls are the ones telling the boys to choke them.

There is no way to prevent a kid from seeing porn whether or not they have a phone and whether or not you are under the impression that you are on top of their online activities. Your kids are likely more tech savvy than you are and they have friends and school and the library and your computer when you aren't looking and so many other options. You can and should talk to them about it but you can't stop it or block access. It's just not physically or technically possible.

There was a huge problem during the pandemic of boys accessing porn sites on school issued laptops .

This story is from Maryland

You didn't read the article.

Anonymous wrote:This part alone is shocking to me:

The rate of those women who said they were between the ages 12 and 17 the first time that (strangling) happened had shot up to 40 percent from one in four.

So it went from 1 in four (25%) to 1.6 in four (40%). Not so "shocking" when it’s not written to be misleading.

Yes, the same deluded girls drinking too much and telling boys they love anal. Girls that are desperate for male approval and hoping random hook-ups turn into Mr. Darcy.
