Are “Don’t Thread on Me” tags no longer political?

Saw someone with the plate in northern VA and was surprised that the text was: ROE (snake) WDE

I immediately wondered if the true anti-government-overreach opponents on the left were taking back the Gadsden Flag!

I'm guessing that the government overreach in the response to covid might have opened the eyes of a lot of citizens. It really doesn't matter what you look like or what party you associate with. Many people just want the government out of their lives.

Sam Seaborn from the West Wing had a Gadsden flag in his office, but he had little in common with anyone displaying them these days. My neighbor with the flag plate also has a vinyl AR 15 sticker that says “Come and Take It”

Yeah. These are the same folks cashing stimulus checks, demanding student loan forgiveness and whining about mortgage interest rates.
