Last year's was even higher. I know two kids in class of 2027 that had 1560 and 1540. Very competitive admissions.

We were told not to submit anything under a 35 ACT. My kid thankfully got a 35.

Who was telling you this? It seems like a lot of people were getting bad advice.

Not according to US News, which claims to have the data of the AVERAGE SAT.

it just shows that people don't submit "low" scores, meaning high but not amazing scores.

I fear for our republic. You guys can't read the most basic article.

US News made no claim.

This is "data reported by colleges to U.S. News in an annual survey"

ND publishes 25% and 75% (which other schools are moving towards now) for a host of reasons. They likely didn't submit a AVERAGE SAT to a USNWR survey (!) because the don't publish that, anywhere or with anyone. Similarly, Columbia isn't here because they also no longer fill out USNWR surveys..

You are speculating that Notre Dame did not provide the information to US News. It is just as likely, or even more likely even, that they did participate and didn't make the cut, whereas BC did. Do you know if Notre Dame has ceased cooperating with US News like Columbia did after it got caught cheating?

schools are learning that inflated GPAs and parent led extra curriculars don't indicate that a student can handle the rigors of college.

Makes sense. Everyone knows that SAT scores matter. To say they don't matter at all denies reality.

That's the median. Is it the same, or close to, the mean, which is what US News publishes, maybe? But no one knows for sure.

ND doesn’t publish an average SAT. For anyone.

Bowdoin hasn’t replied to any US News survey for two decades +

So it's official...stronger students go to Boston College over Notre Dame. I guess that's the difference of being in Boston versus Indiana. It has taken a while, but BC should take pride.

How about we do an apples to apples comparison, considering that ND doesn't publish average SAT.

Notre Dame
SAT 25%/75% 1450/1550

BC
SAT 25%/75% 1430/1510

Both have strong students.

Notre Dame has the stronger students.
