Why are most of the complaints about men?

🙄

Alexa, what is the suicide rate by gender? What is the college attendance rate by gender?

Doesn’t this prove that the societal institutions and cultural norms are working for men? Suicide rates tend to increase when cultural norms shift in your favor.

Wut? There is no more decisive proof that society and its institutions aren’t working for you than you kill yourself to get away from them.

Given that academia is one of the most important institutions in society, the fact that men are either not getting into it or are opting out of it demonstrates that the system is NOT working well for men.

Okay. I’m a psychiatrist. I am familiar with psychoanalysis and object relations theory, and I have read Otto Kernberg and Melanie Klein. I cannot follow this.

Can you give an example of what this means? What does it mean to have a WIDER range of behaviors? Wouldn’t this vary more between social class and culture than between genders?

What is an “issue?” That sounds like something my teenager might say that might mean anything.
And why is it the result of “changes between themselves and other men?”

And does this mean that men argue more than women and have more “issues?”

Wrong: it is actually called DCUMAD, with “AD” literally meaning: AND DADS.

What’s rarely said or openly acknowledged is: this site is 98% women. You were right in that respect, I guess.

lol The url is literally dcum…clearly dads are not the priority.

url is dcur not dcum. And it clearly says "banmom"

Except let’s ignore the fact the moderator is a male and a dad. Lol

Wow you’re tedious

“Urban mom”

Zero reference to dads, aka men, or male parents.

Oh really? I always assumed that person was a female by their comments. Are you sure?

Let me guess. You're new here. This started out as a mailing list, then a blog type web-site before becoming the forum. The original list was DC Urban Moms. But about 10 years ago, DCUM became DC Urban Moms and Dads because once they moved to the forum style site, dads starting participating more. The site is still about 75% female and about 25% male, but it is is DC Uurban Moms and Dads now.

The current logo is at the top and you can see that it has added "and Dads". They are in italic to highlight that they've added men/dads to the conversation and audience.

But Jeff did not go back and deregister the web-site and reregister under DCUrbanMomsandDads.com. But you are incorrect when you say there is zero reference to dads.

I never said there is zero reference to dads. Can you read?

This, obviously. Try Reddit for the complaining men.

The answer is really quite obvious - men are so much more annoying!

Wish you two would stop bickering over this.

Can we all just agree:

- DCUMAD readers are 90% women, and less than 10% male ?

no one calls it DCUMAD, get real.

I’m the site owner has analytics. Why don’t you ask her to share?

Agree 90%\10% split, but could actually be more male.

Well, I think this is why 3/4 of the complaints are about men.

Men are stupid and easily manipulated. I personally have no complaints about them.
