This hotel is a dump. I can hear the cars outside lock my their doors and people talking. I can’t believe I wouldn’t hear it a few miles away but someone in Olney can.

I’m in a hotel 5 miles from the house in sterling and heard nothing, I can hear people coughing outside my window and shutting car doors. Doesn’t seem likely that sound would travel to 270 corridor? Maybe something else happened around same time up in MD.

I don't think anyone from Olney posted that they heard it. Whether you believe it or not, what else did I (the OP) hear at the same time the house exploded in Sterling? It was loud, it startled my dog who barked.
