LJMS threats re Thursday?

Had the exact same thought. Also not comforted by this wording “identified a student who is believed to be responsible”
Were they responsible or not?

Email is not very reassuring at all.

Oh thank goodness. I feel so much better about this situation now. Hopefully NBC4 and the other news outlets will cover it, too.

Why is having it on local news helpful?

Hopefully, the family will have to pay a $5000 fine, and the kid will have to serve 100 hours of community service.

There were cops at DD’s middle school (not LJ) today. Does not seem like a coincidence.

It won't. But there have been posters on this board complaining for days that it was terrible the media was ignoring the threat. IMHO, more coverage is just going to encourage more teenagers to post more stupid threats at schools around the region.

I believe that the standard is innocent until proven guilty, hence the person is believed to be responsible. I would guess that they are reasonably certain that they have identified who issued the threat and are dealing with that individual. As such, the threat is no longer present but until the person confesses or is found guilty the language will be "Believe to be responsible."

I did. He texted me before school started to say it seemed like most people were at school. Has not texted since because they are not supposed to. He has been in school all week as have most of the students.

As they should be. If parents felt the consequences of their kids behavior a little more, maybe there wouldn't be so many behavior issues because there would be more parenting.
