FYI:

Dems aren't known for their business friendly policies, in case you were thinking of voting for a Dem.

Well that's the thing. The only advantage Republicans have for me is the perception they are better for the economy. But Hogan doesn't have a good track record here.

but a Dem won't, either.

I agree with you but the Dems support abortion rights, LGBTQ+ rights, paid parental leave, racial equity, and healthcare access to name a few. No reason to vote for Hogan honestly.

I'm tired of progressive politics in MD. It's not helped our schools or businesses. If there was a moderate Dem, I'd be willing to vote for one, but that doesn't seem to be happening in in MD.

Sorry you don't like progressive politics. Hogan had 8 years as governor and the economy stopped growing under his watch. Purple Line stalled which probably didn't help. He was also very divisive at times. I don't get people who are like "Oh he's a nice moderate". GTFOOH. Very partisan. Just not as bad as Trump which is not a high standard.

And is MD economy growing now under a Dem? No, it isn't.

Whether or not the Maryland economy is growing now under a Democratic governor, there are plenty of other good things going on now under a Democratic governor, which did not go on under Larry Hogan, because he was against them.

LOL, like what? Not our schools; not the economy. The only thing we have more of now is crime.

He will vote to ban abortion nationwide. And he will be forced into admitting this to win the GOP primary against MAGA acolyte Robin Ficker.

Wrong year to run. I think he gets his clock cleaned by Trone, who is a pretty sensible moderate rich Dem dude that middle-of-the-road normies outside MC/PGC are comfortable voting for.

To be fair to Robin Ficker - Robin Ficker is not a MAGA acolyte. Robin Ficker is a Robin Ficker acolyte. He is his own crank.

I used to vote Democratic but now I’m looking for the most even-keeled person in the room.

I agree except I will not vote for anyone who supports a pro-life agenda. Dealbreaker.

We need someone who is tough on crime…which is also pro life.

If he reduces crime, enacts laws against smoking pot while driving and in public locations, I’ll be voting for him.

He's running for Senate, not Governor.

Not because I don't like him, o0r think he would do a bad job, but because if he wins, it gives increased power to Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Ron Johnson, Josh Hawley, and the rest of the far right brigade of the Senate. My vote will not be used to support a potential GOP Senate Majority, and that is far, far more important than my personal feelings about an individual candidate.

But Hogan actually spoke up against Trump. We need to break up the MAGA stranglehold on the Republicans.

Sort or, and ineffectively. But more impotantly, that does not address, at all, the concerns raised above - that voting for Hogan helps the GOP get a Senate majority. You like Justices Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett? You excited about a nationwide abortion ban? Think the country needs more corporate tax cuts, combined with further erosion of the social safety net? Hogan is your guy.

Couldn’t have said it better myself! Yes, he is my guy.

And Robin Ficker is 80 years old.

Other people are criticized for being 80, so…FYI.

+100. Statewide red governors in blue states are horrible choices for Senate even if they were perfectly decent governors.

My dream is that if Hogan gets elected, right after he is sworn in, he would change his affiliation to Independent and caucus with the Democrats! Bombshell of the century!

Hogan is a power hungry snake and micromanager
I still remember how he withheld funds to expand abortion care even though the general assembly had approved the funds
I remember his ridiculous obsession with controlling school start/end dates, negating local control by school boards
I remember Hogan's hissy fit that he could force schools to close in a pandemic, but he couldn't force the schools to reopen
Just say "NO"

Ugh no.

Well I guess I will be volunteering to canvas for the Dems in the fall in MD.
