For MD and VA residents who live outside of Arlington and a very small sliver of MoCo and PG, it's commuter rail. The only people using it for daily trips live in DC |

Not to worry. The caps and wizards fans will make up the difference when they metro down to Potomac Yard for games.

It already is funded in general. The fare box is a minor portion of funding. |

WMATA is like North Korea. Both are horribly mismanaged and operate behind a shroud of secrecy.
Every few years North Korea test launches some WMDs and threatens war in order to extract sanctions relief from the U.S. Every few years WMATA threatens ludicrous reductions in service in order to extract more money from DC, MD, and VA. They use the same playbook. |
| PP is correct. The threatened cuts will never happen. Best to ignore and move on with life. |
Metro's budget shortfall has nothing to do with this and you know it. |
I do think that general lawlessness (which is encouraged by allowing fare evasion) is a huge reason many don’t want to use metro. |
Absolutely. Out of control youth predators. And you know it. |
Metro's budget issues are solely related to expiration of federal Covid funding used to plug operating shortfalls during Covid. The entire region is financially dependent on having a functioning Metro system. |
Democrats are experts at causing major problems, then trying to blame republicans for the fallout. |
Agree - and democrats caused these conditions. But they will try to weasel out of viable solutions, just like they are doing in this thread: https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1182532.page |
