What I don’t understand is that all the progressive cities on the west coast that were about 5 years ahead of DC on these weak on crime polices have pumped the brakes HARD. But Frumin and the other idiots are content to just keep speeding toward the cliff. I mean, we know exactly how this movie ends.

DC Justice Lab and their undisclosed funders have doubled down on their hold on the DC Council, along with DSA, imo, for the reason you state, PP. The West Coast is dialing back the lunacy. CA even made involuntary commitment easier. So, those interests are pushing even harder here. And the Council delivers, for example

The vote was paused due to a flurry of media attention, but it's clear they have the votes. And of course, the murderer, also completely otherwise unqualified for the appointment to the Sentencing Commission, was framed by Allen, the Whites, etc. as being a "victim of character assassination" the only voices against it and for victims were Pinto and Bonds. From Frumin, crickets.

These are not smart people. It is not a surprise at all.

It feels like they are criminals too in their negligence. Can they be sued? Like the mom who is currently suing the Biden admin whose autistic daughter was raped and murdered by an illegal alien who should have been deported? I can think of a lot of recent stories of crime victims in DC that both point to system failures and garner great sympathy . We have so many smart lawyers in town... No one looking into doing this pro Bono?

Some jurisdictions zealously execute murderers. In DC we honor and appoint them to public commissions for their “lived experience.”

Apparently, when he practiced law his coworkers did not want to live anywhere near him. And it sent him into a tailspin.
