Can you elaborate about what you like about Knoxville? |
Lol, what! |
| Chattanooga not Knox… |
And how marginalized are they? Are they at the top of their professions? No. Bc the south is the south. |
- and like I said, all of the South is flyover country. |
|
Whomever said Asheville, please just don't. It's already extremely overrun and almost not livable anymore because of how many people have moved to the area in the last 5-10 years. Traffic is awful, housing is unaffordable. Please just don't.
Greenville is a very cool town. It's definitely not cheap either, but I believe still more affordable than Asheville. Near Greenville is Travelers Rest, which a lot of retirees land. I can't really speak to Knoxville... |
I have also heard similar things from people who were acquainted with southerners. It’s a widespread sentiment in the south. The common theme seems to be a breakdown of society will be the event that triggers it because with local law enforcement overwhelmed with civil unrest these people will be free to murder their neighbors without police being able to intervene. There is no way I would ever live in the south. They absolutely are planning on killing people they think are Progressive. |
Honestly they don’t care or want anyone who is not white or rich. |
Wow y'all are nuts |
Oh don't worry. Many of us detest Asheville for its woke, crunchy, too cool for everyone vibe. Throw in the glut of druggies drum circles and it's a big no thanks for me. I have never seen an entire city try so hard to be "cool" anywhere else like Asheville. |
Why not? Turn them purple/blue! |
It’s a small walkable city. There are hubs of activity depending on what you’re interested in doing. College football is an incredibly fun experience, even if you don’t like football. The school brings activities that the entire community can enjoy. Check out the concert list at Thompson Bowling arena. Downtown is adorable and has bars and restaurants and a weekly farmers market. Restaurant prices tend to be cheaper than they are here. Old city has become really trendy with lots of bars and restaurants. And there’s an up and coming section of town where a few breweries have opened up.including a great German beer hall. They do have a homeless problem but they generally stay in a few areas of town where you wouldn’t really be anyways. Add in the proximity to the Smokies and the river that runs through the town and there is just a lot to do. My son goes to school there so I’m there pretty often. |
| I went to college near Knoxville. I'd choose to retire in Chattanooga. Great downtown and access to nature. |
Really? Only if you believe “nuts” is a synonym of “informed”. Because I’m definitely informed. Southerners plan on killing their progressive neighbors from northern states as soon as they think they can get away with it. This is a widespread cultural phenomenon, found all over the south. Why do you find it so hard to believe? |
And yet the south is a faster growing and more prosperous region than DC, more people and more companies want to move to the south. People love the south, including OP. |
