Mu husband picks them up the day before. They are fine the next day.

Ella’s chicken hash (any other fans of Ella’s in San Francisco?)

Avocado toast, bacon, fruit

Sparkling apple cider

We skip presents and have a ski morning, then come home and open presents later

We keep it really simple with a can of cinnamon rolls, but that's because we host Christmas dinner, and will be spending most of the afternoon in the kitchen.

Does your family actually like casseroles?

My kids don’t. I make muffins and cookies the night before and those are available. But what everyone eats are croissants with jam. The kids care most about their hot cocoa bar with whipped cream and sprinkles, marshmallows, etc.

French toast casserole? Absolutely. If I made a savory breakfast casserole, no, they wouldn’t eat it.

We do some kind of egg bake (quiche or casserole) for the adults, star bread, monkey bread, or cinnamon rolls for the kids, and a make your own yogurt bowl with granola, kiwi, strawberries, blueberries, etc. Plus, coffee, orange juice, and mimosas.

I buy frozen croissants and bake them in the morning

French toast casserole. I pop it in the oven while the kids open gifts. It is their favorite.

Baked eggs and bacon plus coffee cake.

We do something similar. TJ's chocolate croissants (you leave them out to rise over night) and then bake first thing. While those bake we open presents and drink coffee. Then we take a break to eat the croissants. More presents or playing for a bit. Roughly 2-3 hours after we've gotten up, we make some eggs and a breakfast meat and some fruit. The sugar has normally worn off a bit and everyone needs some protein.

So I guess that's 2 breakfasts, but we eat it in shifts.

I will agree with the PP that french toast casserole is almost always terrible. Just make cinnamon rolls or similar.

I make this with sausage but bacon is good, too: https://lifeyourway.net/our-favorite-breakfast-casserole/

One of the kids doesn't like it, but they can either eat it once a year or eat their typical cold breakfast.

I meant to add that you need to get it out of the refrigerator 70 minutes before you want to eat it, but that's not an issue for us because one of us is always up very early.
