| This is the first year that I've FINALLY convinced my husband that we do not have to spend Christmas with his family - we can, in fact, have it at home (of course we're leaving the next day to go visit his family, but I'll take this as a win for now). What can I prepare the day before to pop in the oven Christmas morning while we're opening gifts? |

We used to do crepes with different fillings, scrambled eggs or an egg casserole, fruit, bacon or sausage, etc.
This year I'm not sure b/c inlaws are on a new heart healthy diet. |
| Look for a french toast casserole. There are many varieties. |
+1. My family especially loves blueberry cream cheese overnight French toast casserole. I make it before church on Christmas Eve, and pop it in the oven when we wake up. I’ll usually cook some sausage or bacon to go with it. |
| Beignets. |
She asked for make ahead suggestion and you say crepes. Amazing I keep seeing an everything bagel egg casserole in my instagram feeds that I’m going to try. Search for that or the egg casserole with the trader joe hash brown as the base layer. That’s a great one |
| Cinnamon rolls. Make a couple of days before and stash in fridge. Pull out while opening gifts. |

My mom and I tried a million different strata recipes over the years. We finally decided there’s no such thing as a good strata!
“French toast casserole” is the sweet version of a strata. I’ve had one good French toast casserole (at a b&b) but many bad ones. This year I plan to make a bundtcake with dream cheese icing. Maybe an apple spice cake, or something with chopped fruit. Cake for breakfast is a little indulgent, but it’s Christmas! (And cake probably has less sugar than those French toast casseroles, lol) |
I just made Martha Stewart's apple cider donut bundt cake and it was delicious. It would be a good cake for breakfast cake. |
| Cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs, and bacon |
| Overnight french toast or cinnamon rolls (the french toast is easier) and quiche. Turn on the oven when you get up, pop in the oven while doing stockings and then just take it out when done. Very easy christmas morning. |

Monkey bread, bagels, cream cheese and smoked salmon, homemade biscuits and fresh jam, bacon and eggs
I alway make the monkey bread and then will add additional items depending on what we’re in the mood for. I skip the French toast casserole - my kids don’t care for it and it’s too much for my husband and me. |
We make our crepes the day before then just warm them up. Easy! You put the toppings out and people fill their own. All that can be cut up or prepared ahead of time. |
We always do cinnamon rolls. They really are a once a year thing, so a big treat. |
