If Nikki Haley manages to squeak out the nomination I think Biden is sunk.

Funny enough, only Desantis would be worse than Trump. He is unlikeable and provides zero entertainment value.

Actually I think Biden would easily beat Nikki Haley because Trump would drag her down to prove that Republicans should have nominated him instead.

I agree that Trump would try to sink the republican nominee because he isn’t actually a republican and if he can’t win then he doesn’t want anyone else that “slighted” him to win. He really doesn’t care about the party.

However, I think there are actually enough independents and even moderate democrats that could put her over the line.

I think Biden wins among moderate democrats. I think progressives are the ones who will be fed up enough to stay home.

The loons like Susan Sarandon and Cornel West will stay home. But most progressives have seen what Nader, Nader, Sanders/Stein has wrought and we don’t like it. Forward, however imperfectly, is better than backward.

I’ve seen how the party treats Sanders and Warren and how it treats Manchin. Him getting his pipeline on a bill where his vote wasn’t needed shows who the party values.

Sanders wrote that bill, you know.

With the same amount of time to go in the 2024 election, Trump is now consistently leading Biden in almost every poll taken in the past month.

When you take Trump’s history of always outperforming the polls in the 2016 and 2020 elections, why are so many Dems on here so sure Biden can win? Trump is polling around 15 points higher this election cycle. I don’t see why any rationale person wouldn’t be extremely worried.

I’m not sure Biden will win but I am sure that it will be a disaster for the US if Trump wins a second term. He is already responsible for downgrading US democracy from full democracy to partial democracy.

Democracy will be even further eroded if he has a second term and the country will face heightened civil unrest if not war.

Sanders voted against it. Democrats who feel the need to lie about progressives are going to wonder where the youth turnout went

What was the biggest disaster for you in Trump's last 4 years and how did it affect your family?

We are extremely worried. There are a steadily growing number of people who are hoping somehow, someway Biden backs out of the race. If he doesn't, we'll just hope for the best. Biden still does have a legitimate chance.

I am actively involved in next election cycle and I can assure you no one is worrying about Trump leading this polls. Long time ago we became a country where it does not matter who vote, it only matters who counts the votes. Biden will win and we will have four more years of excellent economy and prosperity. Democracy will be saved.

Where do you start?

Here is just one issue. One in four women have been subjected to an attempted or completed rape. To elevate a rapist to the highest position in the land in a significant insult and a threat and a slap in the face to a quarter of all our women and the people who care about them. And one in 25 men as well.

Hmmm. Having trouble marrying those 2 bolded sentences.

Trump being the likely GOP nominee is what is giving Biden a 50/50 chance of winning in 2024. If Biden were to debate a 50 to 60 year old seasoned politician like a Nikki Haley on national TV, it would be the end of Biden's chances in 2024. Otherwise, Biden has my vote over Trump all day long.

Barring a conviction prior to the primaries (and maybe even then), Trump is the GOP nominee; Haley and the rest aren't even close.

All four national polls released this week on 538 have Biden leading Trump.

44-42 Economist/You Gov - 3-point gain since mid-November
43-42 Morning Consult - 4 point gain since last week
39-37 YouGov
37-35 Leger/The Canadian Press

You know popular vote polls don’t matter, right? Democrats win those easily.

I want to see polls in PA, AZ, MI, WI, GA, and other competitive states. That’s where the election is won or lost.

There are pages and pages of discussion and endless handwringing when Trump leads polls that don’t matter.

The rather big jump in just two weeks indicates there’s something to the non-response theory.

Does any of this really matter if we're talking about Trump vs Biden polls? If either of them win, our nation is humiliated.
