Anyone who got the letter and was accepted. ? |
On College Confidential, people reported receiving the letter and being accepted. In past years it seems to possibly have just been sent to alumni. But plenty of people were fretting over this letter last year, too. |
We got the letter, too- not alumni. It’s like the emails we got from Miami of Ohio and William and Mary basically letting us know our kid applied and thanks. |
I just received the same letter and interpreted it as a prelude to a let down. Really bothered me on the one hand butt, I can’t be mad at a courtesy ladder I guess, especially since the application fee was the steepest one we paid.
Another question has your child received a promotional email about certain opportunities at the school like a dual degree program or a global launch program? |
My twin daughters both applied and only one got the letter. |
Do both of them have same stats? Or what’s the difference ? |
I believe the letter is sent once the application checklist is complete and the app is forwarded to the admissions committee to begin the review.

We got the letter last year that was sent to all legacy families. It sounded as though they were softening us up for a rejection. DC got in.
It was clearly a form letter sent to all legacies. |
Not a legacy but we received the letter yesterday. Suspect its a form letter and everyone who submits an App receives it |
If anyone is monitoring their child’s application email account, can you share whether they’ve received any invitations to join informational sessions for programs / opportunities such as Euro-Tam, Global Launch, Russian Flagship, etc., since applying? Trying to figure out what this means… |
Why the hell are you monitoring their account? |
With the numerous emails received from various colleges, my student has missed or overlooked some important emails requesting additional information or invitations such as the ones I mentioned. As many parents do, I am assisting to ensure he does not miss out on critical opportunities due to an overlooked email. |
Why the hell are you monitoring their account?
However you’ve come across the invitations, whether your child has informed you directly or you’ve learned of the invites by different means, I’m curious if others have received them and what if anything it means. Thank you! |
So you’ll stop doing this next fall? Or will you continue to make sure he hasn’t missed any critical emails from professors, or the financial aid office? |
I’ll take YOUR responses as a “no” to my question. |
