No one wears fur. How tacky and vile.

Just choke on your tofurkey and shut up.

Just choke on your own vitriol and YOU shut up!

PP was clever.

You are lame.

I would look in consignment stores. Almost no one wants to wear fur now, so plenty of people want to off load them.

I was curious, and there are a lot on Facebook marketplace in this area.

Seems like yet another reason to leave the US if you have other options. As if anyone would need an additional reason to leave a warmongering nation like the US.

I also inherited a beautiful fur from my grandmother. I have never worn it for a number of reasons. However I am from Virginia, in my 50’s, and can’t really imagine an occasion when I could have worn it. It’s not common to see women in furs in NOVA or Richmond, possibly due to historic fashion trends in the south and the generally fairly warm/short winters.

But.. but… OP, there’s a MAN who thinks you shouldn’t get one and who will refuse to DATE you if you do! He won’t give you access to his magic D!

Your path is clear.

This. My mother hasn't worn hers in years. Our winters are more "wool coat" winters.

OP, are you comfortable with the negative reaction you will get if you wear a fur coat outside your home? It’s not a good look to wear fur these days.

I have 4 furs, but I bought all of them secondhand. Love them.

I got 2 from the Real Real. I got one from a friend. It was her mothers' coat and she wanted it to go to someone who would appreciate it.

Of course not. And apparently, ALL of the designer handbags are only made out of animals who were bottle-fed and coslept with their handlers before being slaughtered to make a beautiful bag. Hence the price.

Leather is a byproduct of meat and it doesn't take dozens of cows to make a single coat. Fur requires 50-60 dead minks and there is no market for the meat

I have a couple of fur coats (inherited from grandparents) that I'd like to donate. It seems silly to destroy them when someone else might be able to use them. Does anyone know of anywhere that would accept fur coat (and hat) donations?

The funny thing for me - is many of these anti-fur people also buy stuff at Temu or Shein where young children work 14 hour days. Oh the tiny mink! Honestly, I doubt anyone on this board could even identify a mink.

That being said, I don't wear fur because it's out of style and a bit "older NYC"

Send them to OP.
