That's not necessarily true. We're talking 10 pounds, not 20+. Op has a twin she can refer to and have an idea of how she'll look. Losing 5-10 pounds will make op feel better which will make her look better.

OP is already in a heathy, not overweight zone. I promise, if you are not overweight and lose 10 vanity pounds at 40, you will see it in your face. Your body will look better, but yes it will add 5+ yrs to your face.

+1. I lost too much weight doing this. All your cravings disappear after about 2 weeks and somedays you forget to eat

So what does your daily eating look like? Eggs, steak, steak?

I just started the Scarsdale diet. Bringing back the 70's ! It has been working like a charm.

This is the truth!!!

I have always been a great exerciser. But when it was time for me to lose weight, I had to completely change my diet. What worked for me was weight watchers. Really paying attention to what I put in my body and that's when I realized where I could cut things out. First week of weight watchers. I ate normally but entered everything into the app so I could track points for each meal. Then the second week I've made slight modifications to my diet to reduce the number of points eaten. And what a difference it made! For example, before weight watchers, I would add milk to my scrambled eggs and put butter in the pan. After weight watchers, I scrambled plain eggs with a little bit of nonstick spray instead of butter. Changed my bread from white bread to 15 grain bread. Just changes like that. So I continue to eat but just changed what I ate. I lost 20 pounds. But the key was I changed my diet.

Do adults still eat white bread, outside of a piece of sourdough at a restaurant once in a while?

Yes.

I LOVE bread and very lean.

How????? Please share unless you have always been skinny.

Everything in moderation. I eat 1-2 slices of good bread a day. For breakfast I’ll have a slice of whole grain nut bread toast with sardines or nut butter or soft boiled egg or avocado mash instead of butter with berries and coffee. On alternating days I have oatmeal or another non-toast breakfast, then for lunch I’ll make a sourdough panini with grilled turkey, vegan pesto or olive tapenade and a salad or veggie soup. Dinner is fish, chicken, pork, or tofu with lots of veggies and maybe couscous or sweet potatoes or brown rice. Snacks are almond milk lattes or yogurt with granola and fruit or hummus and carrots or cheese and fruit or sometimes a cookie or other treat.

Bread loving PP again. I forgot to mention that I average 1500-1600 calories a day (I think), lift weights 3-4x/week and take yoga class 1-2x/week.

Read up on what body type you have. Certain body types do not require alot of burning carbs but lifting.
But, if you life too much with a certain body type, your weight are in your muscles, that could keep your numbers up. It isn't a bad thing but check on your body type.

Don’t currently diet but don’t eat horrible - probably too much pasta but not into junk food or dessert and drink limited alcohol (2 or so drinks on the weekends).

Work out - walk about 12,000-14,000 steps a day. Try to do a higher heart rate exercise like bike, weight lift or run 4-5 times a week.

What can I do to lose the last 10 pounds? I am turning 40 and want to start the new decade strong!

What does your doctor say? We have been sold a pack of lies regarding weight. You can be healthy even with those " extra" ten pounds.

Not. Really, really not. It's just that health issues will show up later, and you will argue that there is no causal relationship.

Do it the easy way:
Halve your carb intake. It's just a visual eyeball of your plate. No weighing, no counting calories.

This is what I did, and it worked for me. I'm in my 40s. It did not visibly age my face, contrary to what some posters are concerned about.

Weight Watchers. Just join and download the app (it was $10/month for me). I’m dieting for the first time in my life (40 years old) because I’ve put on a few pounds and it’s not coming off the way it has before. It’s pretty easy and it’s helping me make better choices.

There aren't going to be health issues from 5'7" and 148 lbs, which is well within normal BMI.
