Forever 21

I'm 37 and have found some cute tops and jewelry there. Most of my wardrobe is not from there but if I find a cute top that fits me well, why not? The items I find are usually items that I'll wear when going out with my girlfriends or when hanging out by the pool (during the summer). It's not like I'm wearing them to work!

I'm 38 and I don't think I've ever been in the store. It looks trashy. I do know that my neice really likes it for her friends, but she's 15 and in that phase.

Then again, I maybe feeling a little catty that I am not 15 and can't get away with walking around in a tank top and daisy dukes (do they still call them daisy dukes??)

I wandered back into this store over the weekend after not having been in one for over a year (due to pregnancy). I found a cute open cardigan for $10. However, after waiting in line for 25 minutes to purchase it, I finally left. The lines there are always long and don't move quickly. Plus their cash register server was down and the sales girl just kept running my card through. Finally, after 15 minutes of these shenanigans, I walked away. They kept helping other customers and would not ring my purchase at a different register (one item). Not only do you get what you pay for as far as quality of the clothing, but the customer service is poor to match.

Anonymous wrote:I don't because I'm not a fan of the cheap/trendy style of clothes, and I don't think they'd fit me. (I'm also not really suited for H&M.) I'm more of a J Crew/Banana Republic girl. I do shop there for my daughter, though. She's 2. And some of my friends (way over 21) are very excited about the new downtown store, which is kind of awesome.

The downstore is definitely awesome...it's HUGE. I had never been in a Forever 21 until I wandered into that one last week. There's so much stuff there. The jewelry is cheap and cute. You can get some basics or just-this-season items. I'm not saying that I'd wear everything in the store, but about 10% of it is passable for women my age (33). If you've got good fashion sense, you can find great stuff anywhere--Forever 21, the Salvation Army or Saks Fifth Ave, J Crew. Those who limit themselves to just one or two stores don't have any imagination.

Yup, I walked out of there yesterday spending $68 total for two tops, a bracelet, and a pair of cargo pants-- all very appropriate for my 37 yr old ass.

The students at the high school where I teach wear these "styles."

Some of these would only be appropriate on a teenager. But what's wrong with anyone wearing a knee length dress with decent boob coverage, or a maxi dress. If you don't look matronly to start with then the latter styles would look good on any age woman. Then again, if you want to wear drab clothing, do it.

35 and have gotten jeans and jewelry there. I found a TDF leopard trenchcoat for $12 that is on its second season and I get tons of compliments on it. I don't know what people are talking about in terms of the size. I am a 2/4 (a REAL 2/4, not an "Ann Taylor Loft 2/4") and do just great in their size 26-27 jeans.

I am 48 and have been in there with my 18yo daughter. They have some of the greatest cheapo costume jewelery I have ever seen and for prices like $7 and $12. The same stuff would be $50 at JCrew which is my favorite store. I think their clothes are cute if you are under 21. These girls don't want to wear stuff out more than 1 or 2 times anyhow. And they throw it on the bedroom floor and walk on it. Someone once referred to it as "Clubwear which makes sense.
