Forever 21

I've bought plenty of expensive items that haven't held together well and it discourages me from paying too much for clothes.

Interesting. So where can you go to get high-quality clothes?

I saw this today online;

Looks like Forever 21 is going to sell maternity clothes!

My view of the store? It is for juniors and has trendy clothes from fashion trends in Korea. I know alot of Koreans that love the store becuase you can find they type of clothes they wear in the K-Dramas and whatnot. I also know alot of 25-35 year old petite ladies who love it, and it looks cute on them. They can pull off the "cute" look, so good for them! I shopped at F21 and H&M about 5 years ago (I'm 28), but I just don't shop there anymore because it doesn't really fit me and I find everything too short. And I always feel odd while standing in line with a bunch of teenagers, heh. And I once found a dress I loved there, and tried my best to keep it, but it fell apart. My other friends tell me they shop there for the "disposable club wear".

Shop where you want, really.

I actually bought a lot of my maternity clothes there to begin with. I bought a lot of their tunic tops in large and they fit me throughout the pregnancy.

I'm a 0/2 and I have a few cotton dresses from there that I wear over my bathing suits. I throw them on a lingerie bag when I wash them and I'm not too worried about them falling apart after the season - they cost around $10.

They have a line for plus size and Pentagon City is actually carrying it now. I got a onesy at Cusp last year for $300 and now F21 has the same one.

If you buy it online, you don't have to wait in line with the teenagers and it come wrapped nicely. Get involved. Why pay more for a trend?

My sister shops there and she is almost 60. There are some cute trendy items that others have mentioned. Why be such store snobs?

This is worth repeating.

Me too! For clothes that you'll only need for a few months anyway it's a great deal.

I do like jewelry/bags/belts/accessories from both of those stores though!

How do you wash the clothes and do you follow the label instructions? I follow the instructions and with the exception of a couple of tanks, all of the clothing I've bout at these stores have held up.

I'm 32 yrs old & I love Forever 21 for tops. However, their bottoms look uncomfortable. The jeans are too dark & "unsoft looking", & their athletic pants felt a little scratchy. I made out like a bandit @ Forever 21 last week on tops. I happened to find VERY nice items. I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE H&M for just about EVERYTHING! I've purchased business slacks, blouses, a denim jacket (which I wear very often) a cheap purse, (that everyone loves), sweaters, pullovers, & jeans. Love H & M & you can't beat their prices! I also like Anne Taylor Loft For bottoms such as slacks & jeans & also their sweaters. Also, Express has some nice business casual & "going out" wear. I also love Express jewelry. Almost 4got...MaidenForm is my lingerie store of choice. Well that wraps up my favorite stores in a nutshell. These are the opinions of a 32 year old & married,"Jersey Girl".

The students at the high school where I teach wear these "styles."

THe difference between capping on Ann Taylor/LL Bean vs. Forever 21, can be summed up in the old adage: "mutton dressed as lamb."

While it is a completely personal style choice - I do find it amusing/tragic to see women trying to pull off junior "looks" (said in the tone of Tim Gunn).

if you aren't old and matronly, and you know how to choose pieces that are flattering, there are lots of great finds at cheap juniors' stores.

most everything at the mall is poor quality stuff manufactured in china anyway--why not buy it for less money?
Anonymous
I don't because I'm not a fan of the cheap/trendy style of clothes, and I don't think they'd fit me. (I'm also not really suited for H&M.) I'm more of a J Crew/Banana Republic girl. I do shop there for my daughter, though. She's 2. And some of my friends (way over 21) are very excited about the new downtown store, which is kind of awesome.
