I admit to finding this believed GPA threshold to be a bit ridiculous. My son has a 4.37 (after junior year) GPA. DO you consider that to be at the 4.4 GPA mark? |
"believed" GPA? This pp is just stating from personal experience. And read the data, look at the scattergram, read the AO's blog - that all say as much. If my kid had a 4.37 and AP level in all 5 core subject areas, and wanted to go to UVA? Then, sure, go ED. |
| New to all of this. What scattergram? Data? Blog? Can you direct a new parent to the resources so I can learn what to do once my kid is at this point? Thanks. |
Total BS. Everyone new here- keep in mind that there are a handful of psycho moms that squat on this site and attempt to dissuade everyone and their brother from applying to UVA and WM. If your kid is getting out of West Springfield with a 3.7 or above and an SAT of 1300 or above he has a legit chance at admission. |
BUt you didn't answer my question. Do you consider a 4.37 GPA to be above the 4.4 threshold? |
+1. My ACHS kid got in with a 3.8 and a 1310. No sports. |
I think the first two would be reaches, but VA Tech seems like a good target. Someone correct me if I'm wrong (?) My 11th grade daughter is likely to have a similiar GPA and is interested in Business. |
Oh my god lady, why do you care if I'D round up your kid's 4.37? From all I know personally and have seen, read, heard, 4.4+ was good enough for admission and a 4.3 was not. Research the data and see what YOUR KID wants to do. |
A junior year 4.37 would be well above 4.4 at the point of graduation. |
3.8 UW or weighted? URM? First gen? National EC? I know UVA LOVES Alexandria City HS, but still surprised. Congrats! |
Thank you for proving my point that this is an absurd idea to insist that there is a clear GPA line for UVA. |
And has zero to do with you college application which is completed with junior year grades in the typical case. |
because pp didn't answer whether your 4.37 kid would be accepted to UVA? ok |
I cannot handle this place anymore. |
Your kid will get into all of those schools. |
