Another sore loser, claiming to speak for everyone because your kid didn’t get in. VT is my TJ kid’s top choice. And if he doesn’t get in, I don’t plan on disparaging the school like some sulky kid. |
You mean the same sad three disgruntled parents who can’t seem to remove the huge chip from their shoulders? Please.

It is helpful. |
NP, there does seem to be an unusually small number of TJ kids that report attending Tech. https://issuu.com/tjtoday/docs/2023seniorissue https://issuu.com/tjtoday/docs/senior_issue_2022_combined |
If you offered to pay me a billion dollars I couldn’t name 50 kids AND all their admissions outcomes at DC’s school. GET. A. HOBBY. |
| Boy this thread took a turn. |
It did. Unfortunately some folks get a tad defensive. |
Tad? VT parents are way too about 'their' precious school. Getting worse than UVA parents.

+1. No one else cares. |
Agree 100 % |
No, not at all. I think the rankings are overall dumb--and are shown to be even dumber when schools can move up or down 5-20 points based on the number of Pell grant students they admit or other factors that I think are meaningless to the quality of education. I advocate for the Princeton Review approach which sets a benchmark for schools to be included, provides data on them all, but doesn't rank--or the NYTimes interactive tool that lets you rank depending on the factors that are important to you. USNWR and other ranking systems have made higher education far worse. |
