So sorry what was severance?

A really good offer would be :
Two weeks in leu of notice
Four weeks per year severance
Four weeks of paid at employee rate cobra coverage

Also job outplacement assistance
Maybe keep lap top
Assurance you get a good reference

Also absolutely start looking today.

What it sounds like was happening was capital LP was put on a performance improvement plan. They met with her every Monday to give her tasks and then checked in on Friday to see if they were complete. Her boss was documenting at everything and she was not getting things done so they fired her.

I'm so sorry to hear that, OP. A very similar thing happened to me about a year ago. I know that sick feeling you have too.

Nobody gives severence when you are fired for performance issues. I doubt OP gets anything.

Yes they do. My prior three companies had a 90 day probation. Only people fired during 90 day probation don’t get severance.

I only got canned performance once and was at 4.5 month. And I got $30,000 severance. Mainly to sign agreement I won’t sue and the NDA. If they canned me in first 90 days would have got zero. Or maybe 2 weeks.

Performance is subjective. My canning was my boss wanted me to do triple my work load of prior job at only a 25k pay raise and I was pushing back. And yes I knew it would get me fired. Did not care.

But they still paid, why not.

I know my portfolio better than anyone. Any face time with the boss is a good thing as I shine. Knowing there are people like you gives me even more confidence.
You must have a reason to fear you might get fired and I would say you already know that you’re on the line and probably not performing well.

You sound immature. Life can be random. Unless you were born into the "right" family and circumstances.
