Fortunately, the majority of Virginia’s voters — both Ds and Rs — disagree with your extremist views. And stop using “we.” You’re one person. |
+1 They are clueless to the fact that they are left-wing nuts. |
“…serious consequences…” “…It’s shocking…” Please. Tone down the hyperbolic adjectives and adverbs. Youngkin isn’t proposing anything extreme, especially compared to a myriad of other states. Sure, you may disagree with these policies, and that’s your right. But first take your head out of the cloud of paranoia. |
| If Youngkin is going all in on anti-abortion then he's already lost. |
How is women losing health care hyperbolic or not shocking in the year 2023? Youngkin has already said that he will sign any bill that comes his way. He’s already in office (thanks, misogynists), so that part is a done deal. The big issue now are the potential R state senators who will write or support the crazy anti-women bills. You must not know or care about any women to be so indifferent about this. |
That’s exactly why some people want to pretend like this isn’t a real issue. He’s not running - it’s the va general assembly that is at risk. |
The PP isn’t extremist at all. We - the majority of voters - agree with most of what they said. |
No, my views are mainstream. You are the one wildly out of touch with community values |
+1 Virginia wants women to have the right to control their own body. Virginia wants common sense gun control. Virginia wants good schools - which means empowering teachers and paying taxes. Unfortunately, an unscrupulous, extremist minority in our country has been lying and cheating their way into power. Virginia had to fight back or it will turn into another red state dump. |
Laughable. And the upcoming elections will prove so. |
Segura is out with TV ads lying about so many things. |
You are right. They will. The election results will look like the seven contests since Dobbs where abortion rights won overwhelmingly. This is why Republicans are so terrified about their chances. It’s so easy to tar Youngkin’s proxies as anti-abortion zealots and Trump acolytes. Segura, for example, is a terrible candidate. He reminds me of Hung Cao, who failed miserably against Jennifer Wexton. |
You overlook the part where it’s noted that Youngkin has a 57% approval rating in a state where Biden has a 40% approval rating. Until the Democrats stop with the self-inflicted wounds, recognize merit, and embrace equal opportunity rather than equal outcomes, they will continue to lose support. |
Republicans love to gaslight. Youngkin created a tip line as a vehicle to enforce his first executive order to “end the use of inherently divisive concepts, including Critical Race Theory” in K-12 schools. The executive order does not define critical race theory, or CRT, which is an academic framework not formally taught in any K-12 school curricula. The term has become a buzzword among conservatives that has been used to describe almost any acknowledgment of racial inequality in U.S. history or current events. Rhetoric criticizing CRT was a key feature of Youngkin’s election campaign. So yes, you Republicans are able to call in and complain about slavery being taught. And don’t lie and pretend that you aren’t the party of Ron DeSantis trying to teach kids that slavery was good for the slaves because it taught them skills. Feel free to educate me on the evils of CRT though. |
Look, I'm a lefty but parents are absolutely important stakeholders in children's education. Teachers on this board tell us this every day. |
