Vanity Fair has an interesting article out about Youngkin. “The Virginia governor is getting presidential buzz, but he’s focused on winning a Republican trifecta this November—an “off-off year” election that could catapult his career. The state’s senators are sounding the alarm bells: “I’m a little bit amazed that this isn’t a higher priority at the White House,” Senator Mark Warner tells VF.” https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2023/08/glenn-youngkin-2024-presidential-election-virginia-general-assembly
Name one governor of a state that isn’t a trifecta (there aren’t many left) who wouldn’t be focused on having his/her party retain the governorship and win both chambers of the state legislature… It’s a stupid article.
The point is there are serious consequences if that happens in VA. It’s shocking that more people aren’t talking about what’s at stake.
“…serious consequences…” “…It’s shocking…” Please. Tone down the hyperbolic adjectives and adverbs. Youngkin isn’t proposing anything extreme, especially compared to a myriad of other states. Sure, you may disagree with these policies, and that’s your right. But first take your head out of the cloud of paranoia.
How is women losing health care hyperbolic or not shocking in the year 2023? Youngkin has already said that he will sign any bill that comes his way. He’s already in office (thanks, misogynists), so that part is a done deal. The big issue now are the potential R state senators who will write or support the crazy anti-women bills. You must not know or care about any women to be so indifferent about this.
