| Dorky valedictorian hall monitors move to this area. What do you expect. |
I'm not getting out of a lane moving 65 and into a lane moving 35 so that someone can tailgate the next person in line in the delusion that they can someone how go 75 even though everyone in the left lane is already going as fast as traffic will allow. People seem to think that 495 and 66 and 270 are empty country highways where you can easily get over to let someone pass and then resume your position with no inconvenience. |
| I'm absolutely getting out of the way of someone who wants to go 80 in rush hour traffic. I don't dance with idiots. |
|
I don't get it. I've lived all around the country, I don't know where I move, the drivers are worse. What's going on?!
|
Outside of rush hour it’s very rarely bumper to bumper. Or 35 mph highways. |
| I enjoy helping people slow down and relax. |
Highways everywhere are hitting their capacity. Remember, most of these highways were built nearly 70 years ago. |

Please don't take this as anti immigrant, but we really need a driver's program here before you can get a license. I work in a part of town that's nearly all recent immigrants and they just straight up don't know how to drive. There's a 4 way stop sign and pretty much no one knows what to do when they get to it. I've had people flash their bright at me to go, people wave me with their arms outside the window, some people just sit there until everyone is clear before going, lots of honking. People are making U turns when they have a red light, no blinkers ever, going under the speed limit in the left lane (sadly because they are worried about being pulled over by cops since they don't always have licenses or insurance).
It's the Wild Wild West of driving out here. I'm in Virginia btw. |
| Sometimes it's because I need to exit on the left very soon and I am not about to cross 4 lanes of traffic to do so just so you can get to your destination a smidge faster. Although yes, on a two lane road, you pass on the left and drive on the right. And yes, agree on the zipper merge. People here don't get that. |
66 and 95 are always a mess. ALWAYS |
+100 All of the RAs in college. |
It was shocking how *good* drivers were in Oregon. They got out of the way every time from the left lane. It was really like driving on the autobahn there. They’re just more educated I guess? Oregon osxwgst the US can be. It’s not impossible to have better driving. Here in the dmv, everyone thinks they’re the smartest, they’re entitled to do whatever they want, or they feel high and mighty and love to police others. It’s truly insane how bad drivers are in this region. |

It is a southern passive aggressive thing, OP.

I just drove on 66 this morning and aside from one backup it was smooth sailing. Passing people on left - and right when there was a slow MFer in the left lane. You’re reinforcing my belief that VA drivers are just oblivious to what’s happening around them. |
