She’s in the wrong lane. Period. And 75 in a 70 zone is not “reckless”.
Seems like you need a driving class to learn some of these basics. |
She was in the correct lane going the correct speed. The truckers were speeding recklessly going at least 15-20 mph over. Speeding is ALWAYS illegal. Also, the video is even entitled "Good ol' boy gives soccer mom left lane justice." Clearly the MAGA incel truck driver is engaged in some vigilante justice with his reckless driving. |
Where on the beltway is the tuscaloosa exit from the video? |
See, even you at stupid enough to subconsciously admit she was *driving* in the left lane. |
Why is this discussion limited to the Beltway? You idiots drive this way everywhere. |
No, since she wasn’t passing the car on the right she should have moved over. Her poor driving has nothing to do with their actions. |
PP said "here," I'm how a video from Alabama qualifies as "here" |
This was at a highway divide, she was avoiding being in the center lanes because idiots who realize they need to get over last minute have no problem cutting off other drivers |
She was in the wrong lane. It has nothing to do with other drivers. |
“Don’t pretend this doesn’t happen here” does not mean Alabama qualifies as “here.” Stop driving this way anywhere. |
It definitely seems more common here in the south. So backwards. |
Sometimes no, but oftentimes yes. I do this drive frequently to get to our second home and it's crazy-making how many people seem to believe that they're vigilantes keeping other people from speeding, which BTW I did not know was a thing until I read the responses to this thread! It's not irrational in Italy, where everyone understands that if you are being tailgated, it is your responsibility to get over. It's only irrational here where some people understand what the left lane is for legally, and some people have constructed an entirely different reality that involves the left lane going at whatever speed (for however long) the vigilante feels like. For my part, I set my cruise control at 9 miles over the speed limit. In 25 years of driving, I've never been pulled over. Since this is central Virginia and not NJ or Italy, going 9 miles over the speed limit makes me faster than most, though of course there are speedsters who come along going 90 from time to time. |
+1 Flashing lights at someone is a reminder to move over, not a personal insult. Why are VA drivers so triggered by other drivers? |
Aggressive tailgating and flashing lights is inherently reckless and dangerous. Speeding is always illegal, no ifs or buts. So I will continue to drive the posted speed limit, especially in the left lane. Thanks all! |
You are conflating a bunch of different things. Flashing lights is communication and not reckless or dangerous. Tailgating is reckless and dangerous, and no one is saying it’s not. In fact you’re the one promoting that “inherently reckless and dangerous” behavior by acting like a rolling roadblock. Since no one answered when I asked before, why do you want these drivers behind you? |
