Have you ever driven on the beltway? |
|
Hmm not sure where you drive where there is room to move into the right lanes . . . .
|
Half the time if I can't get over, it's because the people racing up behind me go to pass me on the right before I have a chance to get over after I've passed someone. |
+1 Or want to play hall monitor. The good news is that because so many VA drivers park in the left lane I just zoom past them all in the right lane. |
You should have gotten over right away. Not waiting until someone comes up behind you. |
+1 It’s just basic road etiquette to stay right, pass left. |
Did you read the bolded? Can you read? |
You’re clearly not making much effort to get over quickly if people are frequently passing you on the right. |
| I think it’s all the foreign drivers. I don’t think they understand this America custom. Otherwise it’s indignant, idiotic, or self absorbed drivers who don’t care. It’s infuriating. |
You’re the biggest dbag on the road. Thank god we have insane idiots like you who think they should be policing the speed and flow of traffic. If you are in the left lane, pass and GET OUT OF THE WAY. Because of idiots like you, traffic is 100x worse and worsening safety. Get an education: |
| If I'm passing the cars in right lane, I don't care that I'm "only" going 9 miles over the speed limit in the left lane. I'll keep passing on the left until I can get over even if I'm not going as fast as you'd like in the the left (i.e., 20+ miles over the speed limit) |
Everyone I know who grew up in VA parks in the left lane. It’s a thing here. |
Yes, you are the problem. |
No! On the beltway the speed limit is generally 65 and traffic is dense. Everyone in the right lane is going 65 and everyone in the left lane is already going 75. And you're the reckless tailgating a$$hat who wants everyone to move over so you can go 100?! |
No, someone going 9 mph over the speed limit and actually passing cars is not the problem. The problem is when two drivers both essentially want to drive the speed limit, but one is cautious so they want to drive exactly the speed limit or 1 mph slower and the other wants to drive exactly the speed limit or 1 mph over, so that second driver gets in the left lane and then takes 10 minutes to pass the other driver. |
