That's like picking a college because they have a great gym.

Have you been to Ole Miss for a football game? It's hard to understand for those that have not been to The Grove.

how do you put that football game on your resume or grad school application?

Just write: Roll Tide.

Ummm wrong school

I know, but when I wrote it, it made me laugh--and I like to laugh.

Plus, I don't feel comfortable writing the Ole Miss cheer.

OP, my good friend from high school is a professor there. Her DH is a Constitutional Law expert/professor. It's not the backward quagmire that people here always seem to make it out to be. Is it Harvard? Of course not. Is it a good school for the right major? Yes.

Only you and your kid will really know. It's not like people will roll their eyes and snicker because you're an Ole Miss grad. Real people don't do that.

Not your typical DCUM “choice” school but a perfectly acceptable university and inside the top 75 public schools.

Apply, visit, compare to other acceptances and make an informed decision. Top 30 schools don’t have enough seats for everyone.

There are only 50 states, that’s a lag-ship.

Are you the same person that described Ole Miss as "klantastic" earlier in the thread?

DCUM is its own tiny echo chamber of snobs.

It’s hard to understand if you’ve never experienced the power of rah rah school networks.

One doesn't go from "Top 30" to Ole Miss.

Of your DD is coming from OOS and wants to rush a sorority, she will be unable to gain admittance to any known to be “locals only.” It’s discrimination within discrimination.

Fraternities do same. Cut throat.
