How do you stop ActBlue from spamming your phone?

Other than Unsubscribing there is no way to stop them. They sell your info to all Dems running. Sadly, best way is never to donate.

I have also texted stop and systematically block. They do it again from a different number. I agree it’s an awful tactic. I get several orgs and one texts stuff like “11th attempt!!!” It’s annoying.

I used ActBlue to donate in 2016. It was a terrible decision.

I get hyperbolic emails from dems running to this day.

It’s a shame, because it really is an easy way to donate. But I’m not making that mistake again.

Which would be great if anyone read incoming texts. But they don’t. They just click you as active and it makes the problem worse. What is so hard about texting stop? I’ve never had that fail.

It has worked for emails for me but not for texts.

If you donate once to any candidate either through winRed or Act blue, you will forever be farmed out as a donor: your email, phonenumber will be mass emailed to all candidates as a person who has given cash, and the total amount of the cash you gave will be noted as well.

If you choose to donate, use a spam email explicitly for the purpose, and don't use your text number. Unsubscribe from each and every text and email you do get from politicians. Write an email to each candidate youre contacted by that you wish to remove from consideration as a donor, not to be farmed out or contacted again.

Both Republicans and Democrats do the same behavior for the same reasons: less than 5% of their constituents contribute towards their campaigns.

Democrats are annoying in that even when you sign up for volunteering, they'll add you to the donars list too.

They have an exemption from anti-harassment laws, which they wrote for themselves.
