How low do you let your bank account go?

I have two checking accounts. One I keep over $100, the other I get it down to around $3.

I don't keep money tied up in my checking account.

I understand keeping a lot of money in your checking account because you have autopay set up, but at some point it seems like a habit left over from when transferring funds took more than just a few clicks on an app.

We have between $15K and $30K in ours over the course of a month. More than I'd like, less than my husband would.

More often than not we're dipping into savings and I'm stressing about that.

I understand why women stay married. I am a single parent and a teacher and it’s not a good situation. I work three jobs and still don’t make ends meet. I’d be really happy if I had even a fraction of the amount the PPs had.

OP here - I didn't say I was worried I was just wondering how low people let their checking account go. We have so many bills automatically taken out that its hard to keep track of.

We have about $25K of deposits a month and $10-12k of bills, plus $40k tuition bills in August and January. We keep the checking account balance between $5-10k and put the excess cash in high yield savings to pay tuition. Excess beyond the next tuition check goes into a brokerage account.
