So what if you keep 130-150k in your checking account? You're still better at managing your money that plenty of others. Plenty of people don't have 130-150k anywhere. |
| 100, I move everything else to savings after I pay the bills. |
| <$1.00. I do have an overdraft LOC associated. |
I put $40k in a checking acct earning no interest. I’m terrible at remembering to pay bills on time or put money in so all of our bills are auto paid. There are so many nickel and dime bills on top of the big ones, this gives me peace of mind so it’s worth it. |
| $20k. WE pay $10k/month for mortgage, and credit card bills come in at $10-20k/month, so there can be some big outlays. |
| I generally keep at least $15 k. Our credit card bills are often $5 to $15k. |
| This is DCUM, so $5 million |
| $50k but I have irrational anxiety about money and I know this |
I’m so glad I’m not the only one. Silly, neurotic, whatever - but I’ve had checks bounce because I wasn’t watching my balance, and I don’t want it to happen again. |

Ours goes from $34K to $22K throughout the month. I get uncomfortable at $18K.
FWIW we're in our late 50's so our earnings are higher. |
| $10k minimum. We have bills on auto-pay and credit card bills regularly get above $5K. |
| $3-4000. |
| $30k |
| About $500 |
| If it doesn't drop below 0, it's a good month. I wish it was more but teaching doesn't pay enough especially in expensive areas like this. Inflation is also a problem these days. A trip to the grocery store is depressing. |
