Truly intelligent women don't have to be crude and vulgar to earn a living, help others, display their talents, or make a point.

Okay. Thanks for sharing. People disagree with you which is fine because you aren’t actually the arbiter of what truly intelligent women are or do.

LOL! You're saying that truly intelligent women DO have to be crude and vulgar?

Np. That is not what pp is saying.

Wet A.. P...y ... Yes, not a chance my DD is allowed to listen to her. She is disgusting.

Objectively, wap is vulgar; however, if you listen to the song with an open mind, it is hilarious. Men have made millions rapping far worse degrading misogynistic lyrics. When I finally listened to wap, I laughed, cringed and thought "good for them!". Cardi B has some tamer music in her catalog. She very astutely pointed out that when she sings or raps about love or tender topics, the records don't sell, but when she raps about her pu$$y, the money just rolls right in.

Well, that’s quite the sad indictment of our society.

Also, I wouldn’t exactly call that statement “astute” lol. And that’s the point…. These are the people calling her “intelligent” LOL 😂 . Way to keep the bar low…..

Further, she doesn't allow her daughter to listen to her music.

Good for her.

No more than T Swift.

Cardi B may be blunt but not disgusting.

I don’t ban music but my daughters aren’t fans. They mostly listen to Taylor.

Why is her daughter not allowed to listen but everyone else’s daughter allowed?!

I am not going so far as to censor, but I don’t let my 13 yo DD listen to any of these songs with vulgar lyrics in the car. I’ve explained why and she understands my viewpoint. I will keep reiterating it to her over the years. She will have to make her own decisions about it ultimately but I’m making sure she thinks about the ramifications.

Whether or not a girl is allowed depends on whether or not the girl's parents allow them. Cardi B (who many believe to be an intelligent role model) chooses to not allow her daughter to listen to her music. It's up to the rest of to decide if we want to follow her in that decision or not.

P.S. for all the people calling OP prude, I still haven't seen a single person post the uncensored lyrics to WAP or any of her other vulgar songs. I guess some people her songs are tame enough for teens but not adults.

It’s like how the tech parents supposedly severely limit their own kids’ access to screens/phones. They know it’s not good for them, but they’ll be happy to take everyone else’s money.

And that's why so many people believe she's intelligent. She apparently is a history buff and knows all about the US presidents and first ladies. Some of her songs are not raunchy and they are catchy. Cardi B has wide appeal. This is how she makes so much money. It's not just "low class/unintelligent/base humans" listening to and buying her songs, it's white people...and not just the trashy ones.

Huh? Are you saying that white people are not low class/unintelligent/base humans? What exactly are you saying PP because . . . Wow.

+1

And why are you only worried about “daughters”?

Sexist prude.

Any music that crudely degrades men and/or women reflects the "artists''" inner being and how they treat others. Cardi B's little girl is precious. Let's see how Cardi B reacts if her daughter is the focus of vulgar lyrics.

Singing about a “wet a$$ pussy” isn’t degrading to women.

Sexist prude.

It's the stereotype of people who like raunchy rap music. Last sentence includes the low class white people, fyi.
