I don't, thank you. You can grow up and learn to read with comprehension. |
| Cardi B is a reflection of her very rough background. She has my sympathy. |
Sure, why not? Why can’t a woman be both truly intelligent AND vulgar? |
You're right. There are truly intelligent women who are vulgar. They reflect their backgrounds. |
Please - she's a run-of-the-mill hoodrat. |
Your comment had nothing to do with the one you were responding to, which was directed at the OP, not Cardi B. |
| Another for not censoring music or books over here. |
| I don't have a daughter, but yes, I would let her listen to Cardi B. My parents never censored my music, and I never censored my kids either. I grew up listening to Wu-Tang, Redman, Biggie, Lil Kim, Junior M.A.F.I.A, Too Short, NWA, 2 Live Crew, etc. I'm sure my parents found their song lyrics equally appalling. I remember when my two female cousins weren't allowed to watch BET videos or listen to that type of music. One of them had a baby at 13. They snuck around and did so much crap behind their parents back; they were pretty wild back then. Matter of fact, even now as grown women they are still a little out there. |
So what's Cardi B's excuse? |
|
I used to listen to 2LiveCrew
Cardi B is tame |
This is the approach with tweens/teens not banning. PP, what a great idea! |
| I let my tween listen to what she likes. She doesn’t repeat bad words or expect to dress like a female singer so it’s all good. |
| So, why listen! And why not repeat the "bad" words if all okay? |
| Thanks for sharing your opinion, grandma. |
Objectively, wap is vulgar; however, if you listen to the song with an open mind, it is hilarious. Men have made millions rapping far worse degrading misogynistic lyrics. When I finally listened to wap, I laughed, cringed and thought "good for them!". Cardi B has some tamer music in her catalog. She very astutely pointed out that when she sings or raps about love or tender topics, the records don't sell, but when she raps about her pu$$y, the money just rolls right in. |
