The singer Steven Curtis Chapman's 5 year old daughter died because she was hit by her teenage brother's car when he backed out of their driveway.

This happened in my neighborhood growing up, too, although I didn't know the family and the child killed was a toddler. Hopefully rearview cameras will help prevent such tragedies.

That sounds a like cover story for an overdose or suicide. Really sad.

I think I would pick a better cover story. But yes, very sad.

Essentially, a relative died from banging his elbow on a door which resulted in a tiny cut. Cellulitis set in and he ignored it until it started moving up and down his arm, rendering him unable to move it. He became septic and passed away shortly after being admitted to the ICU.

You know Eric Clapton? His young son fell out of a window and died, yes.

Maybe he had a stroke. They come on out of the blue so there is no prediction.

My husband's cousin died this way, aneurism. Parents had just arrived, she said hang on gotta go, died minutes later on the toilet from an aneurism.

This is such a fear of mine.

I was at the beach recently over spring break and these people were trying to get their umbrella into the sand by twisting it left and right, left and right, and I said to my husband "that ain't gonna cut it" and sure enough a huge gust of wind hit and it came flying directly at me, pole side directly coming right at me. I flung myself out of my chair and hit the ground! Everyone freaked out after that! I went over and showed them how to properly get it in there, and they were barely listening, just shaking from it. I'm like, same....

In high school the mom of a boy I knew had Parked her car at the top of their driveway and didn't put it in park, went down to get the mail and her own car hit and killed her.

This happened to me too. The person who had put the pole in the sand was infuriatingly cavalier about the whole thing. I got a concussion and my vacation was ruined, but it could have been so much worse.

You need to have the kids who rent out the umbrellas put them in the sand for you. They know how to do it. And if you own an umbrella, learn how to place it correctly.

I listened to Eric Clapton's autobiography. The son lived with Clapton's ex GF, the child's mother. The windows were being cleaned and as the janitor was telling mom to keep son away from the open windows, he wandered over and fell out. No tricycle was mentioned. So sad.

I know a man who died in an avalanche under less than 6 inches of snow (3 people died). I know a person who was skiing, looked back to see where his kid was and ran into a tree, died instantly (was not wearing a helmet).

My BIL lives on the bottom floor of an apartment building and a few floors above him lived a family where the father opened their very large window to wave hello to his kids who were coming home from school and he fell out. Died right there on the pavement in front of his children.
