People you know that died in a freak accident. What happened?

And the last convo I had with her, she gave me great life advice. “There’s always something we’re dealing with. Once you’re over one hurdle, something else comes up. Don’t worry about the crap.”

He was on a trip with buddies from college, they went skiing annually. All of them were really into backcountry. It was a gorgeous spring day, the temps got too warm, and the snow came crashing down the mountain. It was all over the NY Post and a media spectacle.

Spring skiing scares me.

For this reason, when I have to do stuff like that (park/check something real quick)… I always say aloud “Park” and look at the lit up P letter on my car.

I have an acquaintance who is a social worker who worked in an ER where part of her job was to talk to family members of folks who had just died suddenly. She would say "Never drive behind any trucks/vehicles that have something on them that could possibly come loose." Freaked me out and now I change lanes if I'm in that situation. I wouldn't have thought there would enough freak accidents from those that it would be a thing in the ER, but apparently it is.

Yep that's why the road behind car transportation semi trucks clears when they're driving.
