Georgetown Prep decisions posted (huge wow factors!)

Prep always has been and continues to be the best of the DC Catholic schools for boys. It compares favorably with Maret, Landon, and Potomac and can compete with the Big 3 in some ways although top to bottom is not the same academically. Prep is not without its downsides but they are nowhere near as bad as the haters on here make out.

Wrong. Nice try though. You must be a cherrleader or the PR team. It is not even close to Maret or Potomac, or GC, or Sidwell. Maybe Landon, maybe

That would be your opinion backed up by almost nothing.

Since very few people who apply to Prep would ever consider the schools on your list for a myriad of reasons, it doesn’t make any difference which schools you think are better.

Awe. It's cute you think that. Sad. But cute.

Looks like there were some students added to the instagram post for a total of 20 students so far. Of those students, 5 (or 25%) are attending top 20 universities. That's not too shabby. And I can attest that one student is going to MIT. Not sure if he will be posted, but still this is pretty impressive so far. T20 so far are:

Notre Dame
Duke
Hopkins
Northwestern
Georgetown

Oops...Georgetown didn't belong on that list, so it's more like 20%.

Did it explicitly say they commute? GP has boarders.

No, I don’t think they will distinguish boarders. However, there are plenty who commute from VA, including the young man from South Riding.

I’m sure he boards.

You're wrong actually.

It's pretty underwhelming this year. If you look at public schools in the area like Churchill or Whitman, they have better schools than Prep. The private school education isn't for every kid.

I would never send my kid to a 3000+ student, dangerous public high school where kids have to jump on each other like werewolves for basic opportunities.

RM is in Rockville, not the South Side of Chicago. Prep has just as much danger as Richard Montgomery if not more. Remember, it's an all-boys school (and boys will be boys).

Compare it to GC. You’re the one who keeps bringing up GC. I’m waiting.
