Good housewarming gift for young man, first time homeowner

Does he have an apron? Pot holder mitts? Trivets? Matching kitchen towels apron set from Anthro.

As a recent new home owner the best gifts were a vacuum, home Depot gift cards, Lowe's gift cards, a bunch of tape (this stuff is expensive!), And a hammer drill + impact driver.

-ShopVac
-Dyson wireless stick vacuum
-Barware set (ice bucket, cocktail shaker/strainer/mixer) + a couple of bottles of booze
-Whiskey glasses + whiskey rocks + nice bottle
-Home Depot or Lowe’s gift card
-Cordless drill + an extra battery. Personally, I like Ryobi products as I think they are a good value and now have 20+ Ryobi devices and 8 batteries
-HEPA air filter
-Cordless electric lawn mower or weed whacker (see Ryobi discussion above….buy one cordless brand and commit to it)

My dad bought me this tool kit: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-100-Piece-Household-Tool-Set-with-Hard-Case/1000266011

Plus a Dewalt drill, a hacksaw, WD-40, and a roll of duct tape. I’ve been a homeowner for 13 years and I still love that tool set and have only had to buy a few supplemental (very job-specific) tools since.

I buy these for all my friends. People just don’t think about needing one.

I think a broom is traditional. But also, champagne or a good drill. A friend got my daughter a drill for college and she says it was the best present of them all.

Some beautiful crystal pieces to decorate the place.

As an alternative to champagne—really nice bottle of whiskey or scotch (if he’s a fan). We just moved into a new place and received a few bottles of sparkling wine but we don’t drink it so I ha dicho it away!

Target gift card

Young men his age drink beer! Absolutely ridiculous to send a cocktail shaker fancy or plain!

Beer, sure, but do you see those fancy cocktails (and cool ice) that people order/make/post?

I think this is a great combo of practical and high-end practical.

Ridiculous. I would give him a cookbook for dummies, a good skillet, soup pot for boiling spaghetti, single cup coffee maker (not a Keurig), two plates, two cups. Two sets of good stainless flatware with serving pieces.

He’s in his mid twenties. What makes you think he doesn’t own basic kitchenware?

+1

PREACH.

Yes, good ladders are expensive. That’s a good gift too.
